At first, time will settle for a minute of your time. But in the end it will claim everything, sans the end. So I sharpen time and run with it. I make it mine to bring to ruin with. I wield it like a sword. I give it out of fear, take it out of regret. I battle and **** for it, hold others hostage with it. Time doesn't want salute or tribute. It wants you to forgot it's there. Just turn your head as it chews the road you built. This non-negotiable is often called the great equalizer. It's my friend until it's not. And I know that day is quickly coming.

Like a moth,
you fly toward the fire,
you’re so close now.
Do you want to warm,
to burn, or extinguish
the light?

what
 Mar 23 Ken Pepiton
irinia
nobody tells me what to do with longing
unquantifiable as only the sand is
exulted light dives in my hair
my shoulders are amazed like a cactus flower
your blood self-absorbed rehearses abysmal cascades
tigers are still asleep in your dreams
will you chase the moon on my surface, will you, tell me,
leave your silence on a chair
what if love is this cypher for the mystery of time
what if the pulse is a form of photosynthesis
we have to stay away from any fire since
we would exhaust its thirst
a step into a surreal second that augments me
second after second  the one who loves
disturbes time in its mazing grace
the sky this gestational field
the space between each word a cosmos
a white truth will repeat itself
again and again bearing witness to
life hand in hand with death
Yesterday time stopped,
elephants didn’t fly
indifference still feels fine
but I didn’t retreat from this moment.

Now more than ever
in my world,
in my existence.
I see, I still have the ability
to act, to live, to feel,
to not complain,
to not explain why I am like this.

When I met you
in reality,
simply shaking hands,
the human gaze
without a double mindset

I recognized that
serendipity would untangle
what remained muddled, and
I allow myself to choose simple trust
not to latibulate
even if it sounds a bit archaic.
to latibulate- to hide oneself in a corner
Even when the sun has set,
The stars still shimmer bright.
Her radiance enfolds my soul,
Each morning and each night.
Released beyond this fleeting world,
Expanding past all time,
A serene embrace unites our hearts;
Love’s glow now shapes this rhyme.
Let me loose the trellis that holds on to my roses
weave every thorn I own around your open space
I do not twine nor do I have a tendril to boast of
but I do own beauty and the scent of Rose Khalid

Let me penetrate your senses with my wildish ways
cleaving shadows of your night, I will bring you day
I am not a flower to be cast aside just like the rest
take good care of me and I will surely bloom in May

Let me be your muse's musk, powdery sweet like earth
leaving trails of inspiration on your velvet book of love
I am not a garden trinket nor your favorite rose my dear
talk to me as if  I were a prayer, written just for thee.

For I am no longer a prisoner of your poetry Dear One
just a simple musk-filled muse, reaching for the Sun...
