It's about how too much distance,
brought us together.
And unraveled everything we knew about each other until
we knew nothing.
And at once, we became strangers.

I am absolutely in love with
(who) you (used to be).

I look for you in
every song.
Optimism shouldn't be denial of reality,
Accept reality as it is,
Find the positive in it,
Allow that positive aspect to drive your optimism.
The best part of every struggle is that you gain new strength.

Sitting on the park bench
The one with the little etches
Names of forgotten loves
Encircled with a heart that's probably broken by now
My hands are warmed by the cup between my fingers
I sip it, savouring the heat it brings my soul
My favourite beverage, Happiness
Checking the time, I figured he should be here soon....
But he wasn't..
I waited in that spot for years
Sipping on my drink until I was suprised and dismayed to find it empty
The sun was going down, painting the sky and the streets in fiery colours
Setting everything alight but me
He never came....
He said he would but he didn't...
My own Future stood me up.
Inspired by the phrase "Why wait for a future that isn't coming?" -Me

Hearing you whisper
from over the phone
I know the ache of being alone
You choke out the questions
Through all of your tears
Every syllable confirm all my fears
I don't have answers..
And neither do you
But I know the pain of a heartbreak too
Day 10- Pick a one line song lyric to serve as an epigraph to your poem. Then, write the poem to accompany it.

Pine tree forests stretch
In the middle of nowhere
And I'm without you
I'm in the middle of nowhere.......oh look a Mcdonalds!

---

black crows fly
flock to the moon
and pick its fields clean
i sit and watch the harvest
as if in a dream

its face is barely visible
its light torn from its eyes
i sit here a'weeping
as it sails the skies

o brave moon!
do not despair!
don't give them a thought!
they may pluck your lighted fields
but their work is all for naught!

later in the evening
i see you have not waned!
as for all the scavengers

not a one remains.

The harvest moon was used
as the name suggests - to reap
the fields at night.

Sitting here in its light
I can see how it was so named
I can almost see every
pebble on the ground.
