I can't run from sleep
from thirst and hunger
and my dreams
The horizon's calling me
& it's there where I'm supposed to be

So I'll be who I've never been before
with your wind and my wings
I'm ready to soar
Your love is on loop.

When my finger met the paper, in a brief love affair, it took my blood as a trophy.
Then the red droplets created a beautiful mess as they sank into the dead white wood.
It stung badly, and it continued to hurt as I went on a mission to find a bandage that
could keep the crimson art inside of me, instead of spilling it everywhere.
When I wiped the excess blood away I saw nothing, yet I was still in pain.
But what hurts the most right now is my heart, because just like I couldn’t
see the papercut, you can’t see my broken heart either, and it is bleeding heavily.
Because of you.
And I can’t seem to find a bandage big enough to heal the
hole you left in my dying heart.
I am so happy that my poem was selected as a daily. That is so unbelievable on so many levels. Thank you so very much to all of your comments, likes and reposts. It means the world to me! :)

I knew there was a sun
that rose upon the skies each day
Setting in the afternoon
a twilight time display

Daffodils and marigolds
welcoming the spring
Bluebirds in the maple trees
each morning there to sing

Waves upon the ocean
and a moon up in the sky
Stars above that twinkle
as the evening passes by

Mountains in the distance
reaching high into the air
Falling leaves in autumn
and the colors that they share

Early morning snowfall
in a chilly coat of white
Fireflies so playful
on a balmy summer night

I knew there were so many things
yet I could just not see
Until you came into my life
and showed these things to me

And now that I have witnessed
all that nature has to view
Its beauty still does not compare
to what I see in you

If you look deep within,
down in the town of your soul,
would you say
you're happy with the life you're living?

Dear parents
little did I know
He would braid our lives
for one vast plot
where the audience are my eyes
where the audience are the skies.

Before horses, now trains
before wooden boats, now metallic ships
before small brick houses, now high skyscrapers
before flying birds, now internet
before animals' skin, now branded fabrics
before candles' light, now electricity

Everything us changed around us,
but not our inward world:
our desire to be loved,
our need of acceptance,
our longing to be happy.

When you know that tomorrow
you may not be alive
because of an uncurable illness
you will change your eyes
you would do your best today
cherishing every moment
savouring the taste of life
seeing everything under a different light.
New hues, nuances and shades
that were hidden from your sight
due to familiarity
because of wrong focus.
What if we decided to live like that?
what if we really made the choice to live and not exist
To be present in the now
Not worrying about the future
or regretting what lies behind.

Cause in the end you may not have an uncurable illness
But there's no assurance that tomorrow our eyes will be able to glare the sunlight.
So live.
I put myself in the shoes of someone who has received a bad report from the doc regarding the length of life. The shift of perspective that can happen can be immeasurable causing a deeper appreciation of life.
