She doesn’t always look the same
Sometimes she’s a silver sphere
Fooling you that she is bright
But she’s just a mistress of the night

Sometimes only half of her you can see
Following you wherever you’ll be
She hides while dancing in the sky
Half, still a full beauty up high

In time, she becomes thin, crescent
Like a smile, a blissful moment
She looks delicate, discriminating
Only a part of her, still breathtaking

And only those prison of the night
Will witness the euphoric stint
Of showing pieces of her then
The beauty of becoming whole again
Look up, what shape do you see me tonight?

This is inspired by Phases, a poem by Midnight Rain, my friend here at HP. Thank you for the inspiration :)

The sky is maddening, the seas are glowing and she is still loving
Will you for once, fall in love with me today and let it last forever?

I will keep your heart so safe so sound,
You will know you're home.

Every day even though I don't see you,  I continue to adore you more and more.

Your smile perfumes the air and your gaze as alluring as the midnight sun; how are you anything short of pure magic?

My heart is caged by misery and longing, it beats and bleeds waiting for you to come back.

See the colors in my eyes for you and know that all i feel is true; nobody feels the way I do about you right now.

Love,
Me

We learned to love,
At an age so ripe and young,
We can't quite figure out where we belong,
Is it in the arms of an angel,
Or in the company of the devil's advocate,
And time will only tell if we're in it for the long run,
Even though we are made aware that it'll expire,
This love - this feeling shall not transpire;

We learned to love,
Through rhymes and rhythms of the heart,
Played out by strangers and friends alike,
These souls halfway across the world,
That we relate so well with yet aren't mates,
Could we possibly feel the same with so many,
Is this really what it means to be,
In love with someone you could never see;

We learned to love,
In a moment of loneliness,
Hoping that company will resolve,
And send away our inner demons,
With their tails between their legs,
Back to the depths of alone and sappy,
But the more aware we are of reality,
We soon come to realise that truth is,
We'll always be by ourselves for all eternity,
In this life, we're granted temporary company,
But in the next we might and mightn't, oh what a tragedy;

We learned to love another,
Forgetting that the one needing it most,
Is the shell that holds our soul,
And yet we wonder when another loves us,
What could possibly be the reason he does,
When all our reflections show is a mess,
A perfectly crafted beautiful chaos,
Meant only for the one bold enough to brave through,
In this life, the next and until both is laid to rest.

It's like I'm dying,
The actual realization
Of my own downfall's
Rapid approach.

I don't want to lie
But I'll smile and pretend
Because in the end
I know you wont understand.

I'm surrounded by people
Day to day, but I'm alone
Always the same faces,
It all becomes old to me

I thank you for making me smile,
Behind all the salty tears
I know you wont ever understand
The things that go on inside my head

Someday I'll be able to explain,
When all this misery finally fades.
I'll tell you, word for word
Maybe then you'll comprehend.

This is where it starts
The beginning of the end
Life is crashing down
We were too late to mend

It took only but a moment
To listen to a strangers word
But we were too distracted
And the needy went unheard

Man must help his fellow man
Or all hope is lost
This came to be our downfall
Our selfishness has a cost

There is no higher price to pay
Than for the sin of our apathy
“This isn’t my responsibility”
That was our greatest fallacy

This is where it starts
The beginning of the end
Life is crashing down
And we're too late to mend

when the lace
from my shirt
fell away,
you helped me
tie it back
together,
even though i know
you'd love to love me
uncovered

i knew,
you cradled
the scars
the sunlight
gave me,
you kissed
between my ribs
where the swollen
skin lay tender,
you would have
stitched them up
if you knew how

i remember
the ultrasound
my fingers took
of your heart,
i could see it
beating
red and angry
in your chest,
trying to
unfasten the ties
that held it inside

my palms
were hot, but
they healed you
my scabbed knuckles
brushed over your eyes
and you settled
into me like a gasp,
slowly but alive

sweetheart,
i would
end the earth
in one swift movement
if i could watch
the asteroids fall
in your eyes
came to my bed,
and told me that my hair was red
told me i was beautiful
and came into my bed --

I hope her love for you is your downfall.
I hope it changes something in you
that no one has ever made you feel before
but at the end
i hope she leaves you
so you can see how good you had it
when she was around
that the absence left in your heart makes you feel the pain
she felt every time you chose some one else
instead of *her
