My heart is filled with happiness and joy
because deep inside me lies a baby boy.
I want to give him all I can,
and raise him to be a real man
There'll be times of rocking ang nursery rhymes,
but I also know there'll be plenty of hard times.
I'll do the best to help him through,
to keep him safe, there's nothing I won't do.
I can't wait to hold him nice and tight,
and charish the occation he sleeps through the night.
I look forward 'till the days I sing your birthday song,
and to teach you right from wrong.
So I tell myself, "Be patient my dear,"
"It's not too long until he's here."
was going to abort my baby. had an ultrasound at 10 weeks. I was able to see his heartbeat, see that he was a boy and i just couldnt go through it. I was also incarcerated. I was 17. I wrote this poem while starring at his sonogram, I knew at that moment I would be this boy's mother and wrote this poem...

Closed my eyes to hear you
Cleared the sounds to focus
Vanished distractions
Closer to you than ever before
Voice within whispered
You are loved my child

Through all of the cuts, scrapes, bruises, bug bites, blood, and scratches, we all have band-aids.
One thing that band-aids can't fix is feelings.
I wonder if the ocean
ever gets tired of being pulled by the tides
if there are days
she just doesn't want to rise
and instead,
wallow in the abyss of her cries?

What about when
her feet are ripped from the shore
though she wanted to stay
a little bit more?

Caught in the fishing line
of time
barely stepping into a moment to play
before it's washed away.

Ever changing are the tides
her heart rides
and it's really no surprise
that's where the magic lies;
in a place hard to find
when she's sinking down blind
but when her face reaches the sun
you'll know it has really begun.

Her lips,
Red as blood,
Have a hint of mischief.

Her hair,
Dark as a moonless night,
Twirls gently in the proud breeze.

Her cheeks,
Pink as a baby,
Make the mirror jealous.

Her skin,
Smooth as silk,
Is a flawless canvas.

Her eyes,
Blue as an ocean,
Are treasures of her hidden emotions.

Her touch,
Soft as a mother’s,
Can make any pain go away.

Her voice,
Melodious as a nightingale's,
Will drift you into an oblivion.

Her smile,
Sweet as honey,
Could make Mona Lisa shy.

Her gaze,
Steady as an eagle’s,
Is unreadable.

She,
Bewildering as mother earth,
Is a rainbow of emotions.

You can’t fence her in.
It’s like holding back the wind.
No matter how high you build your walls,
She’ll crack them open.
She’s a wild beast, not t'be tamed.

t'be = to be
