like charcoal

And not in a good way,
Engulfed in flame,
And I just can't get away.

Please, be a lighthouse,
Guiding me to safety
As it storms.

I'm tired of not knowing
Where I'm going.
The horizon's formed by fog.

My ship, full of treasure,
Is worth nothing
If I never reach the shore.

A falling tree makes a sound when no one is around.

Tears that flow without a tender shoulder to fall on

Are unseen, but pain is real even if it's drowned out.
