Adventure
Lucas Richardson Jul 2015
I'm on an adventure to Discovery,
an adventure to Discover me,
an adventure to Discover glee,
in all that I see.

I'm on an adventure til' the End,
an adventure I may bend,
an adventure I may tend,
and often one, I hope
that I may mend.

Pick Up Line
Lucas Richardson Aug 2015
If I were to approach you
in this dim-lit coffee shop,
would you bother to give me
the light of your day,
or have you already dismissed me-
sent me astray?

An earnest effort, victimized
by a preconceived notion,
then I turn away, hoping
you realize your mistake.

Blues
Lucas Richardson Aug 2015
Curse this endless life,
this light I
can't escape.

Why, oh why
must people die?
And why, oh why
can't I?

Curse this endless life,
My life, it refused to fade.
I'm an immortal ray of light.

But I yearn for
darkness to say
"Come child now,
it's your time,

I'll take your
light away."
Oh, curse this endless life.
It blinds me everyday.

Question
Lucas Richardson Jul 2015
Certainty is the goal
within a world of simple questions,
but when you add emotion
it invokes quite a tension-
creates a new dimension.
The path toward what is certain
turns to a barely legible section.
Although it may include affection;
what have I forgot to mention?
How 'bout the anger fear and hate
that distorts our every Question?

a blank mind
Lucas Richardson Jul 2015
A blank mind harbors more than one thought
A blank mind teaches those who need taught
A blank mind battles when you've but all fought
A blank mind preaches those who think not.

Now young one, I ask you; is your mind blank?
Is your mind open to all you can thank,
like a blank piece of paper subject to think tanks,
or has your very own thought submarine sank?

My mind, the mine
Lucas Richardson Jul 2016
My mind,
the abandoned mine.
Excavated for minerals,
then forgotten by time.
The tunnels now empty,
the silence, sublime.
However loneliness,
I did not account for the crime,
or the build up of grime.
And before I knew it,
was saturated with slime,
Questions of my existence,
I could not assign,
Blind.

Dark Wood
Lucas Richardson Jul 2015
In the Dark Wood
a young man once stood
enveloped in an overwhelming fear

A drunken, blind man
lost chasing a lamb
He wreaked of burnt cigarettes and beer

He heard a piercing yell
A sound straight outta' hell
that only in the wood, you may hear

A sound not so kind
It crept up from behind
Foreboding footsteps all too near

A creature full of hate
only death can be his fate
for death is all that happens here

Then after only a moment,
just a second of torment
His ultimate end became clear

In the Dark Wood
a young man once stood
enveloped in an overwhelming fear

Welcome to the collective delusion.
Possessed by society,
do you admire me?
No? Hey,
then maybe you'll hire me.
Just don't ever wire me.
The media lied to me.
I cope through my privacy,
confused by your surprise
with internet piracy.
What did you expect?
What the **** is next?
Do you have a guess?

The world at our fingertips,
and we simply download ***.
You're wasting all your checks,
ignorant to the effects
and lack of respect
for the possession of
Objects.
Consumerism.

While I was walking in the dark,
on my mind it left a mark
but a mark more like a brand,
not just written in the sand.
On my holeless walk within a can
up, up crept that heartless man.
If I'd known him, I'd have ran,
but of his work, I'm not a fan.

Now that I recall, nothing crossed my mind.
Walking in the dark, there isn't much that I could find.
The man came slowly into view, I was already out of time
and in a split second, the scene had to unwind.

Immediately, he reached for his right pocket,
whipped out his Glock, aimed for my eye socket-
"Your life will end here, not one thing will stop it,"
and with a slight squeeze then a sound like a rocket,
my life slipped away, like water from a faucet.

Creation
Lucas Richardson Oct 2015
I desire creation,
a mindless solution.

That which flows
in such a way
that it
entertains incoherence,
welcomes the chaos
and
defies its transgression,
typifying originality.
