drink to forget
Bottled Thoughts May 2017
she thought
that there was more
for her, he's just a bad decision
a blurry vision, alcoholic
but a drunken night in frolic
she will leave
her number still
shoot another gin and sin
chase it down with
stranger lips, lying
to herself she's over him

White roses
She arrowed through
His unsuspecting heart
Bloomed gardens.
How can such pain cultivate a lovely garden?

A florist once told me about an unpopular symbolic meaning of white roses. She said they are flowers often given after you've done something wrong. A floral offering to ask for forgiveness.

To you who stopped writing
Bottled Thoughts Nov 2017
What business you do in the shadows
All your engagements under moonlight
They are none of my concern
Your little secrets, they are yours
I was just wondering how you were

You should be happy now perhaps
Can't think why else would you stop writing
Wasn't it misery that crossed our paths
Wasn't it sadness that made you visit

Now I'm not certain to find comfort
That you found home in someone else's
Sometimes I miss being your go-to
But mistake that not as being jealous
I was just wondering how you do

Do you still bring your red umbrella on days you're certain the clouds won't fall?
Do you still love moons, and local tunes from bands that you and I adore?
Do you still walk slower a bit among roses, admiring all those with longer thorns?
Do you still paint the pictures in your head, even on days you don't have time for?
I was just wondering how you are, but you won't tell me anymore.

Do you still love crying over tragedies?

Do you still love crying?

Do you still love?

Do you?
Do.
Poetry's letter to you who stopped writing.

When Morning Comes
Bottled Thoughts Apr 2017
This man shall lay an arm towards
The East, towards the rising sun
The timeworn sheet's unoccupied part
Half dreaming still, half seeking for
The warmth you leave when you leave in the morn

He was just a fool who loved the stars
He was a thief who had nothing but the dark.
There is nothing after sunrise, there is nothing after dawn.
You'll be gone in the morning like the moon he so adored.

Moonshine
Bottled Thoughts Apr 2017
Rock and roll on the car radio
Locking lips to crack the code that holds your soul
Brain frozen, bouncing to and fro
Somewhere between your sweet and cold tone

I love you and your voice and
Your lies and all your poison
But now I think you made it clear, you
Transform me into something
Else, I know that you've become in-
-toxicating lunacy

You were Moonshine,
Everything good that I thought to be mine
Walking around under the shadow of 10 o'clock,
We went dancing like we're crazy

You were my Moonshine
Every little sin that will stay for a while
Walking around under the influence,
Luminescent, I'm lit by the
Bootleg love in the back of a city
Drowning in self pity

I hate how you look pretty,
pretty far,

pretty far over me.

life is beautiful
Bottled Thoughts Jul 2017
Bombs and guns
Firing from a distance
Shooting at the innocent
Orphans, widows, and children

The blood of the martyrs
Is the blood we had to shed
To put evil to an end
Said a captain to his men
Saying this is what Jesus did

And so their voices say yes sir
But in the trembling you hear otherwise
And the other white lies they tell themselves
As the other side lies on the ground in red
Bleeding to death with
A bullet in its head
And a pistol by his left hand
Wishing the soldiers have left and
The sound of the guns go quiet when night comes

A father sings his son to sleep
And tells him about dreams
And the beauty of life
He covers his ears and eyes
As people scream in the middle of the night

"AIR STRIIIIIIIIKE"

...
This still exists in 2017.

Note edit: I forgot this was supposed to be my drunken poetry acct. But I guess I'll keep this here.

Read Me When You Need Me
Bottled Thoughts Apr 2017
As you pick your poison
Keep your composure
For we'll burn the bridges
    When we get there
    Don't worry
    You'll find yourself
In ruts again
But when that happens
You'll remember this poem
And also that you're good enough
Remember that when the lights go out
Be tough, for you cannot beat yourself
Up
A note to self mixed up in cliché.

Douchebag
Bottled Thoughts Aug 2017
And it seems as / if she's falling for him //
So she asked / if he feels the same //
He's a real *** / so he told a lie that day //

Because for him it's too fast / to be falling again //
That's relapse / that they could not take //
That was the last / time the two will see each other's face //
How come that she feels bad / when she did the right thing //
He's a ******* / right up to this day //
That's the truth that / she will tell herself to ease the pain //

I added the pauses since this is a flow dependent rhyme scheme - that of which is common to songs (and rap lyrics by extension). This is from a song I am still writing.

A Rainy Theme Park Day
Bottled Thoughts Jul 2017
You take blurred photos like a blind man
And then call them sublime
Nothing stops you from singing in the rain
"Singing In The Rain"
Like the droogie from a movie
That we saw another time

Tell me another tale, I asked of you
About your mom or dad, whoever you are less closer to

But you wouldn't.
You ran out of home,
And ***** to give
Then you said I was just like you
Only if I could be honest

Maybe you were right
Also manic depressive
You are a rollercoaster ride
A theme park adventure with
No precautionary measures inside

You told me to take pictures
Like you were sure I will forget
Guess what, I didn't.

Drink to Remember
Bottled Thoughts May 2017
A funny grin was on her face
As she passed out to him
A contact writ in lipstick stain
A reckless drunken tale

Go fetch some water, Jack& Jill
Or I'd suggest you just
Go home it's downhill now from here
And you will miss the bus

Don't give in to destructive whims
To keep your hearts intact
No good love story starts with gin
And shots of double black
Jack fell down and broke his crown, and Jill came tumbling after.

It Might Be Over Soon
Bottled Thoughts Sep 2017
Tired of hanging around, life at his neck, it seems
A little breather was all that he needs
So he took a little walk to a ledge off a cliff
He took a little walk to blow his head off some steam

He recalled "down the road, not across the street"
So he made a little cut through a familiar stream
Now a vein in the arms of time slowly bleeds out
Down for the count, on the ground, he picked his poison

He knew it might be over soon so he simply tried to drown
Out the voices in his head, telling him to never frown
In the face of death. He stood by the edge, knowing
It will all be over somehow.
This would only take a while now.
Whistling a tune, he waited for the noon to set
It might be over soon, he whispered to himself.

Done Are All The Days
Bottled Thoughts Aug 2017
Done are all the days when we
Will stare at the sky and shoot adoration
Dreaming we could take the moon home
And hang it by our window

Don't you see, darling
The clouds, they fall just the same every year
The sun too, sets just the same on every sea
So why would we think that
Ours is special

Done are all the days when we
Will blame the stars for our collisions
Says the Lunar Libran
To the Capricorn Moon that you are

This is what you wanted all along
I couldn't be wrong because the Moon told me so
The stars aligned and shone
Brighter that time when we sat
On that shore after sunset

Believe me, the night was longer
The heavens were darker,
Which meant the stars shone brighter
The night we said that done are the days
When we blame the sky for our mistakes
- From a Lunar Libran to a Capricorn Moon

— The End —
