 Sep 2015 From A Heart
A P Taylor
Bare branches against a meagre sky
Leaves flap like birds moving by
Magpies song mute and taut
Garden chimes sadly retort

Dull light rising to steel grey cloud
Gathering with a heavy shroud
Leaves still fighting as hold
Dark dawn, presence unfold

There was once a girl skating on clouds
Clouds made of honey
Clouds so sticky
She was trapped in the skies.
So I once dreamed of becoming a figure skater. Once.
And I dreamed of becoming a cloud. And, I guess, I still do.

Isang taon na mula
Noong una kitang makita...

Noong pinili ka ng aking
Paningin kahit na sa
Totoo lang, marami kayong
Naka-itim na pantaas.

Noong naisip kong
Handa na, pwede na ulit
Akong mabaliw sa saya
Diba, parang tanga lang?

Noong naisip kong
May gaganda pa pala sa
Paborito kong pelikula.
Hay, ang mga matang iyan.

Pero, mayroon akong mga nalimutan.

Sana nakita ko rin
Sa araw na iyon lahat
Ng di ko pa makita o
Mga iniwasang makita.

Sana nakita kong
Di na naman ako mag-iingat
Tapos saka mahuhulog
Nang tuluyan.

Sana naisip kong
May mga damdaming
Marinig man, ay hindi
Nabibigyang kasagutan.

Sana tinanggap ko agad
Na maaaring ang mga
Kaibigang tulad ko,
Kaibigan lang talaga.

Wala namang kahit
Isang dahilan noong
Magustuhan kita. Kaso naman,
Andami palang rason
Para mas mahalin ka.

Kaya ayun, isang taon na.
Isang taon na palang
Pangarap kita.
Salamat pa rin, August 18 of 2014.
Wala namang pag-asa
Wala namang pag-asa
Eh wala nakita kita ngayong araw.
Taught thought in time slot
Crime line held to pine
Worst thirst never first
"All is well." they say
Yet earth is hell today
Mill bill not a thrill
Moat vote gets the boat
Fair air very rare
Pretty as the peaches
More polluted beaches
Who knew what to do
The whole show will not go
Fine lined but is it signed
Where is Earth decadent
Now who will  represent
To put it in a nutshell
Earth has truly gone to hell

Surely, there is a word somewhere for the feeling of being
On the brink of creative explosion
But letting the feeling fester and die away, barely acknowledged,
While rain drops fall across the windowpane.
Hearts of electric neon
Beating to belong
Creating sparks of blue
Proven to be true

Touch as fingers lock
This thrill to shock
Lips tenderly try
On voltage so high

Glowing like stars above
Plugged into love
Forever to entwine
Allowed to always shine

You are not broken
and I don’t need to fix you,
always remember.
As a kid you told yourself you wouldn’t
Do certain things or act in certain ways
You wouldn’t be one of those typical
College kids found all across the country
But then you get there and you slowly start
Seeing the change
At first it’s small, like that first drag and
Letting the smoke fill yours veins or chasing
That cinnamon shot as it hits the back of
Your throat. The first party and you tell
Yourself “I’ll be there a bit and hangout”
Soon enough you have her pressed harder
Against you then the clothes you have on
Or that sweet kiss on her cherry lips with the
Name you don’t remember as you leave
The cold room the next morning
Slowly but surely you start to change, your
Not the person you were before, you stare
In the mirror the next morning throat dry a
Pounding headache and upset stomach and
Look at the face that wasn’t you
You’ve changed but can you make it for better
Or end up spiraling out of control?
She opens her eyes... a flash of blue, yet two shades.
A game of cards, a hand of spades.

One eye vivid and bright, a sky blue that suddenly takes flight.
The other eye is different, more darker and deep, a blue that hides in the shadows and invades my sleep.

Both eyes balance that darkness and light, I muse. Yet if I could, which one would I choose?

The answer is none for as long as the sun and moon still co-exist and the day still turns into night's mist.....

I will love her two shades of blue because darkness and light are still beautiful too.
For those who find beautiful everywhere, in the darkness and light.
