Never fall in love with a poet
for their words are sometimes lies
on occasions they're a shield
on occasions a disguise

They will take you on a journey
upon which they bare their soul
in a bid to ease your burdens
in a bid to make you whole

But in every word they choose
for the stories that they tell
lies a little piece of heaven
and a little piece of hell

Tormented souls we poets are
sometimes quite broken and despaired
in search of lost expressions
missed by others who once cared

Never fall in love with a poet
unless you're prepared to share their pain
to hold them close on the darkest nights
over and again
Wrap your words around my pen
Bleed them on the page
When the ink turns the river red
A poet is always made
when words are put to the paper and flows like a river

Polar
I have waded through rivers of blood
Still warm and free flowing at my feet,
To walk to you,
To walk to you.

I have scaled glaciers of broken glass
Lacerating my skin to pieces,
To get to you,
To get to you.

I have lost my voice
And a thousand others,
To call for you,
To call for you.

I have lost my vision
Scouring this barren earth.
To look for you,
To look for you.

my tired arms I would open wide in welcome
To hold you once more if you would come
And be at my side
just
once more
And be at my side
Just
Once more.

She wore a red polka dot dress
With a high pony tail
And lips red as can be.
She waited for him
And late he would be.
In sky scraper heels she stood
With time passing by.
Minutes flowing into more minutes.
She gave up waiting
And walked out the door.
I wish
that in
another lifetime --

should there be
another one --
and surely,

we'll find
each other
again --

in whatever
form
we'll take;

I wish
you
and I --

wont let
our souls
hurt

this much,
this way--
ever again~
When Soul Mates meet at the wrong time...
Have you ever looked
at a total stranger;
catch her eyes and see her smile
and suddenly feel your
soul sing?

It hums a melody of familiarity
reverberating from your chest
to your toes and to your
whole entire being--

And then you notice,
your heart aches--
bitter and sweet,
but mostly sweet;
Your hands shake,
your knees tremble

And you try to hold on
to something stable
to keep your balance;
All the while
trying to figure out why
it's suddenly so difficult to breathe

"Can anything like that ever be possible?"
You once asked yourself long ago;
And in the stranger's eyes you found the answer~

A moment like that--
the rarest of its kind
A moment like that--
not everyone can find;
The moment when your soul
Finally, says hello
to its lost mate~
