You lay there
with bed head hair
and
morning breath...

Dried drool on your lower lip

the remnants
of last nights take away

still present in your teeth

and all I can think
Is

how beautiful you are

and

how much

I love you
In a world of Photoshop such true beauty is so often lost

I keep reading quotes about just wanting to be simple with someone. Just wanting to lay in bed and eat pizza with their person. Nothing special, something simple.

That's the stupidest **** I've ever heard. There is nothing simple about being in love.

So I don't want simple.
I want you. No matter what you come with, no matter how complicated it gets, no matter when we end.

I want you and there is nothing simple about that.

Warm,
Loving, Joy,
Friendly and True.
Hiding her pain
And her fear.
Always there
In it's place
We remember it well,
Wishing she'd
Let us in on the truth.
In it's beauty it kept us
From reading her eyes
Where her torment and
Angst filled her soul.
How we wish to this day
We'd looked past and embraced
Opportunity wasted, our loss.
But the beauty remains
When we think of her now.
We will always remember
Her Smile.

In my book of memories,
a girl wrote a poem, long ago,
*reading it alone, going back to the page,
the meaning gets upside down.

I want to read the kind of poetry
that sears it's verses into you
that makes me want to turn
yellowing corners to read more
and squat over my treasures
In the corner of the bookstore
Arduously inked thoughts
of tortured frame and stories about
passive aggressive dinner parties and
sun drenched lost ethereal loves

If I scream under water,
Can no one hear me?
Because
They
Can
Not
Know.

so I brought my writer wife
(prominently pregnant)
to the hospital
and on her bed, she screamed:
"weren't" "hasn't" "couldn't" "shan't"
"aint" "hadn't" "you're" "isn't"
"aren't" "didn't" "wasn't"
"who's?" "what's?" "he's" "she's"

The doctors were confounded
and they turned to me and they said:
"What the hell is she doing?"

And I replied with double speed
and a violent sense of urgency:
*"Don't you know?
She's having contractions -
she's a writer"
