Your breath on my skin
I called my addiction
Ever since you left
They put me on these prescriptions
But I've prescribed myself
A Change of Scene
And I know
I'll always be addicted
To the utterly relentless presence
That causes the wind to make
The hairs stand up
On the back of my neck and
The fall air
To still feel
Like your breath
It's what they call a trigger
So now I'm finally going away
But like the breeze
Your memories
Can't be escaped
And no matter how far I run
I'm always *addicted

october
you have come to sweep me away
with your flowers
blue
and the sky
falling

pass quickly
over me
my love
like the wind
that keeps slipping through
his fingers

Ask each and every man, and many will say,
they've seen the light of gods to whom they pray,
But are the gods a projection of fears?
Or is my vision blurred by my own tears?
Minds will clash as our ideas collide,
But only in death does the truth reside,
I'll wait for the day when clouds clear from the sky above,
And men can swallow their pride and learn to love
After so long an absence
  At last we meet agin:
Does the meeting give us pleasure,
Or does it give us pain?

The tree of life has been shaken,
And but few of us linger now,
Like the prophets two or three berries
In the top of the uppermost bough.

We cordially greet each other
  In the old, familiar tone;
And we think, though we do not say it,
How old and gray he is grown!

We speak of a Merry Christmas
  And many a Happy New Year;
But each in his heart is thinking
Of those that are not here.

We speak of friends and their fortunes,
And of what they did and said,
Till the dead alone seem living,
And the living alone seem dead.

And at last we hardly distinguish
  Between the ghosts and the guests;
And a mist and shadow of sadness
  Steals over our merriest jests.

I thought of you when there are doughnuts
and happy chatter all around
Your laughter makes me want to smile
and laugh freely at everyone
Dedicated to Emi, my housemate and most of all a friend.
