Negative Creep Mar 2016
Sitting on this
Porch again
So I don´t face whats
Going on inside

You found my
alcohol and
you seemed mad but
now you want some

You drank
You got drunk
only for the sake of
having an excuse
not to make love to
me

At this point
I dont care
all I want is the rest of that bottle
and it better be waiting for me
tomorrow.

Pax
loneliness has defined
this old soul.
Bittersweet melody
has tuned my way of
living.

I don't know how much
my heart could stand
the weight and wait
for that simple moment,
that single spark
to feel alive
and stop breathing
the ashen smog of reality.

from ashen gray to ashen fields
comes, ashen smog...

do they care if I'm loved?

perhaps I'm too comfortable on my
own space and too confined to be bothered.

thank you for reading,
me...

Mike Essig
Old
A self-portrait.*

Gaze into the mirrored face
of the drunk man. See the
blurred innocence of
the departed boy. There are
no worlds but this world.
War, women and whiskey
do their destruction.
A man becomes what
a man does, but sometimes
that can’t be helped.
Perhaps a thousand more
lives must be lived
to undo the doing, to
break the bonds of Karma,
to find the arms of peace.
Every day a good day to die.

Negative Creep Mar 2016
It's hard to die in springtime,
you know,
But I'm leaving for the flowers
with my eyes closed.

Whirligig birdies, oh you're so cute
you put up a good fight against the wind
blowing at you
Negative Creep Feb 2016
I'm like an
orange.
Peel my shell and
tear me open
   to find my
soft
sweet
insides.
Negative Creep Feb 2016
I walk away
so I know that I wont see you
but I know that you're still there
waiting
