The clouds regurgitated  lightning
while booms reverberated
off the walls
Meanwhile I was feeling up my indifference
by holding a glass of soured milk and honey tasting like frustration that shattered from the pressures of despair
a falling star,
drawn to another,
as if the universe
had always known.
just cause...
The Lily looks up,
the Moon gazes back,
both knowing well,
they will fall,
soon.
I remember the full moon night last year, lighting up my terrace. The flower plant looked sooo beautiful!!
One flower was shining exceptionally bright, its face turned up toward the moon, as if it was shyly glancing at it.
Such a magical moment it was!
Rows at parting gate
goodbyes thick in waiting air
some quiet—some sour
through the glass—a plane vanishes
with hearts left behind
Passage | Tanka | 2/5
Beneath the gulmohar tree
In flamboyant love
A tale of our desires
Coloring each other
A bright vermillion
Under his crimson spread
Shaded in blissful haven.

Reaching for his branches
Clasping, holding
Climbing, swinging
Chasing, laughing
Under a bright shower of scarlet petals
Of hearts and heat, of love and life
Blooms of a scorching Indian summer.

In flames, his vibrant burning crown
His canopy, flaunting festive tangerine blossoms
Crinkled teasing petals
One upright
Of quaint innocence in white
Splashed with  feisty passion's red
Celebrating and anticipating
In celebration of us, our love
Anticipating rain..
As his branches reach high for promising dark clouds.

Serenading with the music of the monsoons
Moist leaves of the gulmohar glisten
With wind and water, in gentle rhythm
Raindrops nestle for a moment
Before sliding, slipping
On damp, satiated earth
Strewn bright with scattered orange petals
Of the gulmohar
Drenched and soaked like us.
Repost. I can feel summer just around the corner
