Drowning in the sea of red
cartridges stuck inside her head
singing to the pigeon man
about all the stars again
how they crunch under her toes
there she goes

She dines by the candlelight
golden beetles lined with blight
in her velvet dressing room
withered flowers in full bloom

Drowning in the sea of red
cartridges stuck inside her head
singing to the pigeon man
about the dawn once again
how the curtain rises low
on last show

Cigarettes in the first row
burning slow
Rustling of the stolen feathers
burning slow
City shining through the smoke
*burning slow
Steampunk (sort of) song written for my brother
Why
The only question I have is, why?

Why did you step on me when I was already dying on the ground?

Why did you leave me when I needed you?

No one stuck around

Why did you let me cry more tears then I've already shed?

Strangers loved me longer when you left me for dead.

Why did you break me in half when I was already bent out of shape

You've trapped me in this hurt where there is no escape

Why won't you love me when all I want is a little peace

You've been killing me, mom I've been sleepless for weeks

I'm done asking questions, cos I know I'll end up dead

I don't even need your answers, I just needed to clear my head
There are rumours circulating,
About you and I,
I'm not sure what they are,
But then I'm not one to pry.

According to common gossip,
We've done so many things,
Like snuck out at midnight,
And bought each other diamond rings.

I only know those two,
From my friends big mouths,
Who exclaim these stories in detail,
Like they're something to be proud about.

But rumours are never good things,
They only cause pain,
Because people's sharp tongues sting,
As we drive each other insane.
I want to follow the sun
Chase it across the western sky
Continue to bathe in his warmth
Have him steal me from the night

The moon she loves me
Whispers in my ear
The secrets she holds
Makes her to me endear

The sun in all his glory
Will not tell me his
Runs away
When asked his story

So it is he who I must chase
So he can kiss me with his warmth
And I will sacrifice myself to ash
Just to look once upon his loving face
The sun so loved the moon, he died every night so she could breathe...

I typically write about the moon, but decided to pay the "sun" homage
the hardest
part of
letting someone
you love
go is
making yourself
stay away
If this tree
should ever come to fall

Let its gnarly limbs
point up to heaven

If its heart
should ever come to a stall

Let it die
with errors pardoned
and sins forgiven
time fell through bone fingers
as ashes do
when spilled
Wow.... this is way more likes than I could have ever anticipated. Thanks, everyone! :)
