For years I wanted to be like the others
too perfect to go unnoticed
until you looked at me like that.
You said you liked my hair
and I said it wasn't like the others.
You said you liked my eyes
and I said they're only brown,
not green or golden or blue.
You said you liked my laugh
and I laughed at that.
It was only until then that I realized
I don't want to be like the others
because you don't look at them like that
and because My Heart doesn't have to be the one inside me
to be the one that I own.
be free, be you. Someone is going to love you!

No matter how hard we fight do we ever REALLY recover from the habits that scared us in the past?

Are we ever really ok , even though we tell our selves everyday that we are better now?

To me it seems as if every time someone "recovers" something happens and they spiral even farther down then before.

So , recovery, does it ever truly 100% happen, or do we just try to make our selves blind to what is still there even after all of our hard work?
I see this all the time and I just thought I'd share this with y'all.

Minnesota winter
This lake, that lake
The lake around the corner
Frozen, wholly
Catching fish through
Holes in the ice
Frostbite
Layers of snow packed deeper
And deeper
And deeper
Like an unsightly
Ice cream cake
Snowmobiles leaving traces
Of minus 40 races
Breath freezing to faces
And icicle trim laces
Something is serene
Though the air
Kind of smells like
Freezer burn
And hypothermia

Rising with the morning sun,

I beam at the brick and iron kingdom outside my door

Crystalline eyes reflect the spectrum of my spirit

Wondering miraculously at the natural projections

On the street,

The wind blows me back and forth in an easy waltz

1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3,

Leading me on my way

Pink places

The pink places he
kissed on her body
opened up the way
flowers do in the
season of spring.
And the fluids that
came out looked
like morning dew
on the petals before
the sunshine pours
down and dries them
