The rocky road is a diverging river
Splitting into T shaped tributaries
Feeding human fish into the highways
Silver schools of cars, trucks, and semis
Swimming dangerously through the streets
The masses ebb and flow
While the smokestacks grow
Drivers do not really know
Why they go where they go
Drive fast to die slow
They drown on those roads

Where do homeless hearts go to rest
With no sheets to cover their skin
No blankets to warm them
No pillows to hold their head
In dream like trances
Life dances in a parade
With their broken valves
Littering the way
and though they may pray
Only eternal slumber
Will ever let them sleep
In a peaceful way

Weltschmerz
ˈvɛltˌʃmɛːts,German ˈvɛltˌʃmɛrts/
noun*
a feeling of melancholy and world-weariness.

reading the newspaper became a chore
don't wanna read about another war
don't wanna read about climate change
no, don't tell me about the dark side of humanity
might as well lose my sanity
i don't want to know about the dead refugees
it only makes me feel more helpless
rivers flowing with filth
guns buried under corpses of the innocent
i'm a sad being behind a laptop screen
dreaming about glory the world will never see
i'm trying out something. please leave your comments below.

Aeerdna
She's somewhere far away
sitting on her porch
watching the sun sinking behind the church tower
alone
breathing the warm air
as another day of her life
is going to an end.
80 years and no smile wrinkles on her cheeks
her forehead still a history book
where lines of war and struggle
are deeply written.

Her eyes full of colour,
her heart
a room where hope and sorrow
constantly fight against each other.

Her voice, a joy to hear
though it saddens me
knowing that she goes to sleep as the sun does—
lonely, in a dark, quiet infinity

Chest flowing red rivers
Sheathes her dagger
Ends her swagger
Swerving like a drunkard
And falling into
The dark hued
Deathly abyss

Her skin was cursed stone
Hard as her heart
And I could not bridge
The gap
Could not cross
The coveted spot
To find her heart
Remove the marble
Till it was freed
Chip by chip
And let her be
Till the stony queen
Finally loved me

She took my corpse soul
Bone dry and empty inside
Blood soaked scythe
That painted the night sky
With hopes for an ending
Soul spending in spinning
Atomic energy on the demon in me
She rose to see my flesh form
Finally feel and bleed
From the deeper need
I was regenerated and reinvigorated
Just in time to cross loves line
And have her turn loves laughter
Into lover’s lament

We are flesh made for leaving
Or being bereft for being left
Made for deceiving or being deceived
By those who claimed to love us
Those we thought we could trust
Trial by fire they tried and lied
Leaving us only sad broken ****

Little boy blue
Couldn’t save the world
For or from you
Couldn’t brave the night
In joyful flight
An amazing sight
In super hero tights
To inspire
Give you wings
To soar higher
Even with all his strength
So, for a while
While your lost in the wild
You will have to think
And save yourself

The factory will devour me
With its hungry mechanical
Guttural, industrial heart

Machine beating out
Perfect plastic product

The metal monstrosity
Pounding out heat
Creating hard heartedness
Beating and feeding on
Human sweat and flesh
Self-sacrifice to fulfill
Your family need
Eight to twelve hours

Life becomes cheap
Ate up by the factory beast
