The Messiah Complex
Complacency is often mislabeled genius
In poems teeming with pretentious words
and trite metaphors bought in bulk
over compensations for a poem lacking depth

There's an elegance  in simplicity
a celestial spark, in the ability
to make the ordinary seem divine
and to turn simple into sacred

We are all gods, aching in our humanity
we are all oracles, with prophecies waiting to be told
So dip your pen a little deeper, press pen to paper
until heaven is felt in every verse

*G e n e s i s  is only a poem away

Some lyrics stay with you,
they stick to your memory
like glue,
if you only knew.
I'm leaving on a jetplane soon
& I'm not sure when I'll be back,
'cause the melody's sticking
this time for good
I think,
I'm hooked on a feeling.

In the dark hour
Of your soul,
When midnight's mad
Memories
Flare, and hold
The storm
Massed on your pillow,
And your eyes
Are deeply sallow,
Rest.
Breathe in.
Our wrongs and rights
Fill the nights
With silhouettes
Of what might be,
What had been.
We know
Life's rack is
Laced with phantoms.
Awakened,
We embrace
The light,
And share the struggles
Of the night.

THE GRAND DESIGN

Esoteric Alchemy ~ To make of One Form into Many.
To See beyond the Surface Structure,
and shift its Shape
from the Ordinary into Extraordinary...

~Can’t We just Design parallel Surfaces,
without intercepting Asymptotes?

…how about with Tangent Tangerines,
or in Earthening Collard Greens?

What if I swirled into You
upon a slinky Sinusoidal Serpentine Dream…

You could slither Me up with a taste
of Your Raspberry Vanilla Eye Scream…

We should Integrate our Derivative
into the Summed Square total of its Parts…

~alas, Enter para~Plasmotic inter-Dementia,
Sparkling quarks on Celestial Utopia…

Why are there Words??

~Cause its Words that Confuse…
All of Transmission is otherwise Smooth
Why not decide when We try to Communicate,
to Assess how We Address, so the Words can Cooperate?
Cause it seems to Appear Larger in Scope,
if Viewed from up Here,
If Not for the Invent of Words did Elope,
the Fruit of War,
In the Mist ~ Disappear…

MY PROPOSAL FOR WORLD PEACE
One from the beginning the Year
Seemed to give people a light heart giggles
While maintaining the furrowed brow thing

He hears their  chuckling
every now and then
above the alpine,
in a place where
none of them truly belonged.
But the sacred saw them worthy,
giving them borrowed time
to etch their memories
on the stone age frost.

Fear gave them such
sweet inspiration,
those precious moments
to leave their speedy footprints
in the endless drifts,
filling crevasses,
that disappeared
forever
in the freezing gales.

They have all dispersed
to different parts of the globe,
each one knowing
the beauty of the mountain,
in its raw form
& never forgetting
their laughter
they once had
on the lip of her ice
kissing pain.
Amen.

Roger Turner - Poet
ever since the day i saw you
wrapped up oh so tight
you've had me wrapped around your finger
and man, it just feels right

you sing and dance when i play music
though you do not know the words
the things you do just make me smile
you flap around just like the birds

you are my little big man
my little big man you will stay
you'll have that name forever
my little big man...every day
i love the way you smile
and the way you make me feel
you are my little big man
know my love for you is real

you do things and i tell you off
you stomp about and start to cry
you spend time there in the corner
looking outside at the sky

we hug and all's forgiven
we go outside into the yard
i never knew that love like this
could be so easy, not so hard

you are my little big man
my little big man you will stay
you'll have that name forever
my little big man...every day
i love the way you smile
and the way you make me feel
you are my little big man
know my love for you is real

you'll grow up and move along
get friends and live your life
in time you'll go to college
meet a girl to be your wife

one day you'll be a parent
and you'll feel just like I do
when you look down at that smile
of little big man ...number two

you are my little big man
my little big man you will stay
you'll have that name forever
my little big man...every day
i love the way you smile
and the way you make me feel
you are my little big man
know my love for you is real

You play three.
Me, seven.
Fifteen for two.
This is where I lose you.
Your phone vibrates,
You leviate
Sitting across from me,
Making me an unwilling audience
To all the drama.
You vibrate. Your shoulders droop
Like the gape-toothed village idiot.
You gesticulate,
Fading in and out
In a semi-conscious awakening.
You're trembling under stones
Sitting on your chest.
It shows in your tembling hands.
Twenty, for two...
Twenty-five, for six...

I overhear your child is truant,
Another wants a ride,
Another a car, doctor or lawyer.
You're shuffling in your seat.
Not to worry.
Affter the stones are lifted,
And you're properly pegged
In the stink hole, the game's over.
Thirty, for twelve and a go. Game.
So deal with it.

As if I have been the long a waited
Radiation suffocating,
Patient in bed, empty men around me
Almost perfect now.

You carry your organs beautifully
Smiling wrinkles,
And in your words I can capture
Slideshows of your days
And nights also,
I spin them around in my mind
As I feed on daily doses
Of Ripened morphine
And self pity.

Soon you disappear and with you,
Another light bulb tickles itself
And shatters into darkness.

Filled With Lessons Learned

You are born with the life God gives you
Will die with the life you've earned
So take the time that's in between
And fill it with lessons learned

Give yourself to others
Work harder then the rest
Live your life and do what's right
Just trying to do your best

Show the world something new
Give more then you take
Understand different points of view
And love more than you hate

Place a smile on a child's face
Make someone's dreams come true
Open up your heart and soul
And say more I love you's'

You are born with the life God gives you
Will die with the life you've earned
So take the time that's in between
And fill it with lessons learned

The spring in your steps
And the spring in nature
Playing a match
That let me have a catch
Of a bit of happiness
In all my loneliness

In all my loneliness
This weather makes me
Light as a feather
Dreaming us together
I am told it's spring in most of the US

Your smile unveils mysteries
I'm the traveler to unravel them ...
Never stop smiling ..
You never know who's falling in love with it !

Maybe one day you'll remember
All the good times we had.
Maybe one day you'll see that the
Smile on my face was all because of you.
Maybe one day you'll know how much
You meant to me and maybe
You'll realize that we were meant to be.

As younger, I'd look to
The skies and ask
For a warrior's death; to
Die with my shoes on,
Protecting something
With my blood.

Now I ask to live a
Lifetime with my shoes
Off. Humble before
Gods and family.
Protecting everything.
With my life.
