bees, I am told, are going extinct
"save the bees!" everyone proclaims
because everyone is an activist these days
and why shouldn't we protect the bees?
after all, they are just bees
looking to drink nectar
it's not as if they do harm to the flowers
they leave behind

he told me that someday he would taste
the sweet nectar of my blooming flower
and when I kindly said
"*******"
he grabbed my face
and threw me to the ground.
he left me,
wilting from the pain
and i had then learned
the difference between
the boys and the bees

Each time I wake up in your arms
I am a different person
My troubles far away from me
The nightmares never dare to touch my eyes
The city sleeps along with us in the one-room bed
The fluorescent advertisement of the avenue street dances on our naked bodies
I wake up at midnight often and stare at you for hours
As something precious has happened to me
Like those highway stories
I wrote while traveling with you
Mixed with the smell of the dust, the wildflowers, the just blossomed cherries
And you, my scent of a woman.

Doy A
There she stood
still
despite the chaos
despite the buzz
despite noon time rush.

Placid alongside
the humdrum
the mundane
the same thing
over and again
over and again.

Day in, out
she seeks for reason
some meaning
some place
someone
something or other
to faze her
to move her
to take her
back to living
and not just
breathing.

She asks herself:
What good is surviving
the the struggle and pain
if she spends her days
for nothing
but ceaselessly hoping
for anything to happen
or at least,
to once again feel?

This is what I told her:
Sometimes the way out to depression
feels like becoming a whole new person
but this phase will come
and go
and so
embrace the process of healing
take your time and believe in
yourself and the waiting
will soon be over
and you will start over
another day
another chance
so wade in this circumstance
this inevitable consequence
of losing yourself
and then finding it
again.

In the black of the window
neon and restless lights
continue from the evening
to early morning
Rapid fingers weaving
shapes in the air
which crawl on her skin-
as well as the neighbours shouting from below.

This feeling never seems to stop
a hundred cups of coffee
could not comprehend
The pounding of the chest,
tired and veiny eyes
Symbiotic with the wired mind;
the air is so thick with angst-
piercing the window is not
enough to escape this
virtual reality.
I huge thank you to all my followers and readers. I'm never concerned with the numbers but it brings me great joy to connect with like-minded people and share my art. Sending love and blessings your way, E. x

Snowflakes dance against my eyelashes.
The cold wind brings colour to my pale skin.
We arrive on time, catching up briefly as my eyes meet yours.
Time has not changed you,
You are still filled with short quips and philosophical musings.
Your brown eyes melt me like honey.
You speak soft words,
challenge my thinking,
offering a short escape to routine life.
You breeze through every year,
Staying a short while,
then disappearing like summer rain.
Will I see you again?
A smirk, a glance, and a constricting hug.
My senses go numb, and I could stay here awhile.
Comfort is entwined within you.
A nostalgic love.

Love will come to you,
not as a mist
wetting your face softly,
but as a tremulous storm
shaking your passions loose,
swaying your thoughts
with ravenous appetites,
flooding every arid place inside
with the intimacy of hands gripped,
eyes enchanted,
words laced in poetry.
It feels good to write love poetry again.

In the eyes of the ocean,
What do you see?
I find myself somehow lost in you
Yet I smile at thee.

Deep Aphrodite caverns
For you and I to rest
And whilst our bodies sink
My hand is stitched to your breast.

Oh, how I could soak in these seas
For an eternity, if not after death.
But woe betide if you drown
And I shall no longer taste that salty breath.

For now the moon shall glow over your silky waves
And light shall dwell in those sunken caves.

Then let me swim one more time in those eyes of yours:
That open in the dark like Heaven's doors.

Standing alone in silence, on a cliff made of diamonds,
I look down at the world and see it for what it truly is.
The sick grow weary, children starve on the street,
the rich grow mighty, the poor continue to beg at their feet.
The world leaders continue to speak, filling the pockets of the elite,
with each drop of innocent blood, our humanity grows bleak.
All alone I watch in silence, as the innocent are slaughtered;
since the beginning of time, mankind has chosen to live in darkness, where they stay mesmerized day after day.

Holding hands with a child, I look deep into her eyes,
I see a beautiful creation, I see a magnificent light.
Then we rose into the heavens and joined the legion of innocent lives.
Standing alone in silence, I watch the diamonds in the sky.
