i grasp at grains
holding on
to a fistful of sand
as wave after wave
washes away
the innocence
the giggling
the playing
the screaming
the apathy
the maturity
the regrets
the silence
leaving nothing
but memories
and tears
washed away

Childhood for me like for most was a mixed bag! Lovely until parents passed away and I have had to grow up... The beach my sanctuary!

Crying Heart

a false clay mask
covers clenched faces
hoping the edges wont break
held together by the cracks
of the bitten lips
a single drop of pain
reignite the agony
for silent it wont remain
behind the quiet yet heavy
mind full of deep confusion
black clouds of frustration
overlaps the screams of the
crying heart

Things went low and I don't know what to do
Your scent and your smoke, it's all about you
As I laugh out loud, I pulled out a gun
With a single blow, surely things'll get done.

Under the light of a thousand stars,
Won't reveal my pain and broken scars,
Every time I look at the night sky,
Thoughts of you, my love, quickly passed by.

How I long for your touch, warmth, and scent,
Words that you spoke that you truly meant,
Memories that we've made through the years,
Forgotten and my eyes filled with tears.

As this cold breeze embraced my dull skin,
Where did our love go? and was last seen?
With a broken soul and heart, I say,

Relief

You can't find relief...
In reasons non existent;
In predicaments ill-explained.

There's no relief.
In trying to peer over towering walls.
With feet on tiptoes,
and necks sorely craned.

Relief isn't found...
In wishing upon droplets
that explode as they meet the ground.
Everytime it thundered,
and then rained.

Relief is in the trove
when the heart lets go.
To acknowledge the error,
to move on...
And commit fully to the lesson gained.
