i grasp at grains
holding on
to a fistful of sand
as wave after wave
washes away
the innocence
the giggling
the playing
the screaming
the apathy
the maturity
the regrets
the silence
leaving nothing
but memories
and tears
washed away
Childhood for me like for most was a mixed bag! Lovely until parents passed away and I have had to grow up... The beach my sanctuary!

Lady Bird
a false clay mask
covers clenched faces
hoping the edges wont break
held together by the cracks
of the bitten lips
a single drop of pain
reignite the agony
for silent it wont remain
behind the quiet yet heavy
mind full of deep confusion
black clouds of frustration
overlaps the screams of the
crying heart

I still crave for your kisses
Oh, how sweet it tasted, dear.
Stars where we dreamed our wishes
But now the night sky seems clear,
Alone in a starless night,
Where we bid our last goodbye.

Things do change,
      In certain people
      In certain affair
      In certain love

Things do change,
      Between us
      Between love
      your's may go
      But mine will not.

You
I knew from the moment that I saw you
That you'll gonna tear my heart into two,
That you'll choke me with your oh-so-called love,
That you'll leave me without a single move.

Yes, I knew you and I can clearly see
but why did i still let you contain me?
I breathed you but it wasn't the same,
and then you found a girl with the same name.

Things went low and I don't know what to do
Your scent and your smoke, it's all about you
As I laugh out loud, I pulled out a gun
With a single blow, surely things'll get done.

You are the most beautiful thing in this world
I want you, You are the one I want to hold
You are my lost star that I kept on finding
Please tell me why does my heart keeps on racing?

I caught you off guard and I held you for once,
I gave my all to you and I grabbed that chance
and I said those three words out of the blue
and You said I am not just that good for you.

Under the light of a thousand stars,
Won't reveal my pain and broken scars,
Every time I look at the night sky,
Thoughts of you, my love, quickly passed by.

How I long for your touch, warmth, and scent,
Words that you spoke that you truly meant,
Memories that we've made through the years,
Forgotten and my eyes filled with tears.

As this cold breeze embraced my dull skin,
Where did our love go? and was last seen?
With a broken soul and heart, I say,
Still now, I'm the only one that stayed.

Ovi-Odiete
there are some poets who you read and they give you a rushing inspiration to write more, better than muses from nature..... But when such a poet leaves, it's harder to write again
For my Friend Sydrivers who left this beautiful HP
I hope I get to read his works again

We've been breaking each other
for years,
day by day,
piece by piece,
until
there was nothing left of us
but pain
and misery
and the ghost of a love
wandering the lonely streets
of our souls.

You can't find relief...
In reasons non existent;
In predicaments ill-explained.

There's no relief.
In trying to peer over towering walls.
With feet on tiptoes,
and necks sorely craned.

Relief isn't found...
In wishing upon droplets
that explode as they meet the ground.
Everytime it thundered,
and then rained.

Relief is in the trove
when the heart lets go.
To acknowledge the error,
to move on...
And commit fully to the lesson gained.
