Positive
Simplified in silence
Capture these emotions
calculate my temptation
to run away and never look back
I'm lost in love
not searching for exit
excited by senses
touch, taste, sound
feeling you near
even though you're nowhere around

Words are wonderful
Current mood:  amused

So last year for Christmas I bought myself a dictionary. The Oxford American Dictionary to be exact. (psst it won out over the others because it maintains that "irregardless" is NOT a word and thus remains improper...hooray!) Anyway back to business. I was going to buy myself a thesaurus this year but didn't find one I liked. Oh, there was a pocket version that was entirely suitable but I didn't find a hardback one that really worked.

I really think people should have to read the dictionary then they might speak with more precision. One of my favorite sayings, and I am being facetious (sarcastic for those who don't know what "facetious" means), is "I think I unconsciously knew that." NO YOU DIDN'T! You can't unconsciously know anything; you can subconsciously know it. if you are unconscious you aren't thinking anything. It is your subconscious that prods you. sigh

On a semi-related topic, etymology is fascinating. I would be willing to bet most people don't know the roots of the word "unanimous". Un (one) and animus/anima (heart, soul, mind)  So it's not just about people simply agreeing about something but putting their soul into it as well. Handedness is very prejudicial. Grrr you rights!! All words dealing with being right-handed are good skilled (droit, derecho, recht, etc), but lefties all seem to derive from the Latin siniestra (sinister)  or a imply "clumsy". Just look at "ambidextrous" ~ right-handed on both sides. 'ambi'-both + 'dexter'-right (side note: no wonder Dexter is a serial killer) It's opposite word is "ambivalent" that means 'left handed on both sides'  I love learning new things.
So as a left handed-American I feel constantly belittled by the daily assault on the way I was born. I can't help it. Hahahaha. No, just kidding I'm tougher than that. I've learned to cope and no longer fear the right handed scissors.

Last interesting thing:
The French mer, Italian mar, Spanish mer, etc all derived from the Latin word mare ("sea"). Latin derived it from the Sanskrit MARU, which meant desert, sterile element where no vegetation grows. I am going to find out how lifeless desert became an ocean teeming with a plethora of life.
MARU would be also the origin of the latin morire (to die).

OK wow lot to read, congratulations if you stuck with it. reading skill has increased +5 Ah-hahahaha I couldn't resist. If your game you get it; if you don't, how sad. Oh wow look at the time why am I still awake? sighstupid insomnia

It's not who you are or who you know,

What you wear or where you go.

It's not your friends or family,

Its words on a page,

In this community.

The words we use can settle scores

or open doors.

So hear a heartfelt plea from me,

Let's stop the wars and do poetry.

Wanderer
Saturated with midnight's palette
I cloak myself in darkness
Moonlight tells the tale of too many dawns spent wishing for twilight
Every time I close my eyes I can still see your colors
Bourbon honey, the golden burst of your striated iris
Greek god glow, soft skin that reached for mine
Autumn's Burning Bush, our heated mouths, braided gums, eager tongues
Winter is tolerated
Varied other states of "now", avoided
This is the suspension of my grief
You lose a lover due to your choice or theirs
Possibility continues to grow between you
(one never knows until one does)
You lose a heart beat to silence
Hope only continues on for those left behind
(if the broken can piece back together)
That once promising soil now home to a bare spot in my garden
I still water your first phase flower
Knowing that I must preserve sufficiently
Color belongs with you
Shadows, with me

Wanderer
Unrestrained
Summer sweat slick skin sliding
Urgent
Homemade wine lubricating the distance
Between our whispering mouths
I want you
Cowboy boots knocking sideways shimmy
So ready for your deep sighs
To set my hips a dancing
This is late night country twang duos
Heart beat rhythms speed up like humming bird wings
Drinking deep of soft *** nectar
Eyes roll back in mid-moan wonder
Close now to seeing early morning fireworks
Fog rolls in over high peaked mountains
I am right there with them
Dewy. Dawn kissed.
Strung tight like guitar string strumming
This body's melody hums in tune with you

To make a poem is simple
All you need is

Nights of tears
A bit of blood
A lot of pain
A touch of peace
Heaps of feelings

All you need is

Pure exhaustion
Fear
Anger
Love
Sadness

All you need is

A whole load of
Emotion

Then when that explodes
Out of your body
You just need to somehow direct
All of it onto
A piece of paper

That's how you make poetry
Not that I would really know.... To all the true poets, I'm sorry, I don't mean to be cocky by assuming that I can write poetry. I know that I can't, I'm just trying to summarize how I write, no matter how bad it is

One Does Not See What They Have Lost,
Until One Loses All That They Have,
And Realize It Cannot Be Replaced,
No Matter How Rich They May Be,
Or How Much Money They Spend Trying To Replace It.

Love Is Not Bought.
It Is Earned,
Cherished,
Sought After,
And Treasured Above All Else.

Don't Deny And Throw Away What You Have,
Cause By The Time You Realize How Much They Love You...

It Could Already Be Too Late.
It's Never to late to go home and forgive who you love,
to Ask them out one more time,
To Bend down on one knee and ask
"Will You Marry Me?"
But don't wait until their Heart is Stolen by Another,
Or until they're 6 Feet Beneath The Ground
O Heavenly Creator
I fall upon your grace, love, and peace tonight, work within them.
Please touch my brothers and sisters heart tonight, and every night.
I see your love in them all , just calm the storms within them now.
My heart breaks for their pain, you O Lord do the impossible now.
Heal them of everything that is hurting them at this very moment.
Rescue them, keep their Light from being put out by their anger.
Just restore them and lead them through this darkness to the other side.
Then bless them use their poetry here to heal and bless one another.
I pray this in Christ blessed name amen.
