~ ~ ~ A POEM FOR PRADIP ~ ~ ~
(a repost)

In these early hours of evening
when sun has dipped down, hiding
cold has set in, warmth cooled by wind blowing,
your words haunt me, left me pondering.

For a sunshine poem, you asked,
but how? when it is now dusk,
there is no sun,  only dark to show,
not even a moon aglow.

All i see are fiery dots of light, shimmering
in the garden, i am alone, wondering
I do not see them closely
yet, i feel they could be friendly.

They are luminous lanterns, seemingly beaming,
could these suffice to keep your flame burning?

In the widening dark, they bask
to perform their given task
carrying drops of hope with their sparkles,
scattered ***** of chances, radiated by lighted candles.
They are so tiny, collectively bright,
wandering, even on a moonless summer night...

I have not one sunshine poem for you,
instead, thousands of Fireflies, i offer you
to let their light shine  upon your  face
dry every bit of sadness, leaving not a trace.
to dry tears hidden
ease your shoulders laden.

I wish i could see your smile
hug you, even just for a while
wear your sombrero
'til day after tomorrow.

I pray my words have beamed enough,
to save your day, to see you through...

Well outside my circle,
Beyond my paltry reach
Of influence,
Nasty, spinsterly, unforgiveables
Happen.
Across from The Farmer's Market,
Just two days ago,
Two young males were...
You've no doubt read it.
Before that, a young teacher
Was kidnapped, stabbed and lit,
(can't believe I just wrote that)
Well, she was ******* lit... burned...

Who can live like this?

Then, I remember Tom's mother
Who invited me on family picnics;
And Crazy Jack,
Who put the chain on my rear sprocket;
The Squires who actually cleaned-up the yard
For the Downie sisters.

The befriendings in neighborhoods.

Mrs. Tethercott, probably the oldest woman
To ever live on a street, once handed me
A hard red candy through the green pickets.
Just me. The sibs never saw it going or coming.
An especially special treat that has stuck with me
For decades after her death.

But the Mayor arriving in full Santa regalia
On the trunk of a sleigh-red car,
With burlap bag slung heavily.
What a first memory of Christmas.
Daddy burned his leg
With diesel oil
On the job site,
Far away, in Kapuskasing,
During our first winter
In Canada.
Did the Downie Spinsters make the call?
What unknown friends reached out
Beyond their circles.
Who aspires to such a height?
I can't let it stop me.
For now,
I carry a hard candy
For just such occasions.

I am nearly an illusion of life. I exist in this life, but at the same time, I don't. I am stuck in this pathetic place you humans call earth. I pity you with the rest of the people that are living, for life is another illusion within itself, and all of you are headed for your own doom. With all of these wars, destruction, and jealousy, you you are going to be the cause of your deaths, and you are simply making that end point closer and closer to you all. And when you think it's the end, it isn't, and trust me, all of you are going to be taken away. There will be no stone nor building or a sign of life remaining in this 'earth' of yours. Our whole life is a lie, and the sooner you all accept, and know this, the better of a chance we have of changing things. I just leave you all with this, life is nearly an illusion, and soon enough, life is going to catch up with you, and swallow you whole.

note: i heard somebody said this and i will just re-share to you of how karma repays,.... it just made me teary coz i always ask myself if karma does really exist, and this time, i believed it really does exist.....

in a conference, (it is not mentioned what place) there was a very loyal and very good person, who is the treasurer in that specific conference. he is so good, kind and nice to everyone... everybody likes him and he is so good in keeping the money and he is such a very trustworthy treasurer...

then, one day a woman approached the president (who happened to be a part of the family) , and told him to excommunicate him in being the treasurer and let the woman take his place instead but the president refuses 'cause that man is such a good and trustworthy person...

then the woman had a bright idea

she went to the office of the man ahead of him and hide... the man went in his office and the woman wait for her turn to show off her idea to take away the man in the position.. then, when the man went out, after a minute she went out and declared,

"****, ****! HE ***** ME! LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT WHAT HE HAD DONE TO ME, THAT STUPID MAN!!"

the people were all shock to what they witness, a woman, with stripped clothing went out and pronounce

  ****

and the man being accused stood there, frozen in fear and doubt, confused of what to do,

then suddenly he explained himself hardly,... but the woman is just so good in acting, people believed in her, and she was successful with her plan...

the man wife's was so angry, and crying, she can't believe what just happened, she question her husband a lot for what reason why'd he do that, the man explained a lot but nobody believed in him,,,"

the man's family suffered a lot... he don't have work anymore to support their children,... his children went school as a working student in college, they studied hard 'cause nobody will support for them anymore....

on the other hand, the woman, happy with her big amount of salary, she was able to send her children without anything to worry about,.... she can just send money, send money, and send money to her children...

AFTER 10 YEARS

The woman got guilty a lot and this time * SHE SUFFERED.  her children got addicted to drugs, was not able to finish their studies and other made a girl pregnant... she said she never knew how hurting it is to suffer like that, she maybe had money to support her children but they just wasted it for other stuff..

while the man being accused, his children all finish in their studies and was able to earn money and repay back to their parents...* (he still has a happy ending)
note: i am just sharing this and i am not stabbing anyone... i heard this 2nd week of july, i was just so touched and gives me a lot of realization...

i heard this storyfrom a teacher, . . . this is true and the place and name was kept secret...

by the time i heard about this, it punch me hard... i then believe karma does really exist.... karma is really painful especially when you did painful stuff to people too... i always wonder, would the person who hurt me last february be able to get his karma? but by the time i heard about that story, i realize karma don't exist when you want them to , it exist in the future where everyone already forget the incident..... and it happened, not necessarily the same as what they've done but something similar and it is not directly to them but sometimes it is to the children and to the people around them,,,,

i knew my time will come, he will be realizing it in the future that, "this is what i did to her before", the consequence to every act..

realization: just be like the man, being silent and just continue life... just let the problem passed

lesson: karma, the horrendous revenge

when all is but gone,
books, words,
reduced to dust and
arbitrary faces I
will remember -
cats.

the absurd
pretension in
every line of
an ee cummings
poem.

every
numbered capital
letter.

and I
will
remember
birthday parties.

the little drummer
boys that made
them.

and the
gibberish that only
made sense when
you read it at night
beneath
flashlights.

and I
will
remember
rickshaws.

make-
believe pavllions.

and tucked away
homes hidden in
ol' Kansas bluegrass
half-
asleep.

we,
still somewhat up
at two
in the morning puttering
away at stories so
easily
forgotten.

it is here
where our
rooms stopped time to
break free of metaphors.

where the metaphors
become symbolisms.

where the symbolisms
become you—

I guess
I’d just like to say
that I
will remember
you.

and thank you.
For my lit teacher.

I enjoy distance
Long drives with no destination
Music blaring,  miles growing

I enjoy distance
Long walks to nowhere
The peace calms my restless soul

I enjoy distance
Little steps each day
Away from difficult situations

I enjoy distance
Between people and places
And me

I enjoy distance
It gives perspective
Emancipation

I enjoy distance
I also enjoy coming home
When distance has run its course

think of all the people you've ever met,
and all the conversations that have ever left an impact on you.
think of all the thoughts that those words prompted in you,
and all the actions they led to,
which went and touched more people than you can count.
innumerable words and thoughts,
little cosmic representations of the
souls of people touching us
every.single.day.
your life is forever and inexplicably interconnected with a million others.
forever intertwined, forever in tandem; forever solitary.

a shell of a man sat in a cavern by the beach
barely willing to breathe
and he watched as the fishermen in their boats went by
deep inside he would let out a sigh,
"if only my father had taught me how to fish
and we had been wealthy and had servants to dish
up our food
then i would not be sitting here in rags

i would be in a nice little house with a pretty lady and we would have three children or four
if i had the money, perhaps we'd have more
but, alas, i cannot

i am poor and this will never change."
with what little he had, he fed that rage
he sat for days
begged for food from the passersby
they brought him shrimp, which he claimed was too dry
"and these scallops do not have enough salt.
yes.  everyone else is at fault."

with an upturned nose he'd cry 'bout his lot
his body was famished but his pride was not
it grew and reared its head like a lion
all while the leftover food would go flying
in tempter tantrums of rage
because his lot would never change
he loved his pride more than his own head
so he fed the lion of pride instead.

one day, a man (new to the town) saw him sitting in the cavern as people gave him food
the man, as usual, in a sour mood.
the new man had never seen anything quite like it before.

"Why," he asked himself, "I'll be darned if this man has never been taught how to use a net.  If I be a man of God, I ought to teach this poor fellow what he'll never forget.  I shall go out in the morning and teach him how to fish."

True to his word, the man was there the next morning before the sun peaked, while the corpse-like body of the man was fast asleep.

"Good morning, sir."  Said the man, shining his lantern into the cavern.
No answer.
"Good morning.
I am Cornelius.  I saw you yesterday being helped by the people of the town, and I could not help but want to show you how to get around.  Teach you to fish, how to make it a dish, I would even let you steer the ship.  How would you like that?  If I teach you, it shan't take longer than a month, and you'd get money to get you out of this slump.  Why, any employer would love to hire you on if you could figger it out and show some brawn.  You would earn more than enough to eat.  Could even buy yourself some nice new sheets.  Perhaps build a home, wouldn't have to be alone.  Find yourself a wife and have a happy life.  Would you like that, sir?"
There was silence for a moment, and the voice from the bed of rock and seaweed mumbled, "It is far too early for me to be awake."
Cornelius said, "Why, sir, there is no reason not to be awake right now.  I am offering you a day on the sea, I won't let you down.  Some people pay money for that, they do.  I haven't much time, I need to know if you'll come, too."
The mumbled voice, "I haven't any shoes, I could get splinters in my feet.  Besides, the morning mist is sweet."
Cornelius, "Why, I have an extra pair on the boat.  They might not be the right size, but they'd be perfect and nice."
Voice, "No, no.  I have bad vision, I will never be able to be a fisherman."
Cornelius, "Well, you don't have to look out long distances unless you are the one steering.  That won't be a problem, sir.  Come out, I will teach you to fish."
Voice, "I cannot be out on the waves too long.  Motion sickness, see, so much could go wrong."
Cornelius, "I had motion sickness as well, but you grow accus-"
"And my arms are too frail to use a net.  No, it's best that I stay here and get some rest."
"Well, it wasn't for nothing, I suppose.  Maybe tomorrow you'll want to go."

He didn't move, his lips barely stirred, he said,
"Good sir, when you get back with the ship, will you bring me back those shoes and some fish?"

The irony of mankind,
They maketh technology to better their lives
And yet,
Their technology
Is ruining their lives....
The irony...
As tis they couldst use that wired technology for healing
They use it for bombing and killing..
As tis they couldst use it for connecting
The fact is
They've all gone unconnected!!!!!!
Hiding behind some screen,
Forgetting what an old fashioned phone call is.....
Connection, man thought this technological advance wouldst do.
Disconnection is what is hast really brought them......

The irony.....

Agrestial highway's, an agora of light's
Mine carrion shalt release its brawn,
Pushing the deceiver's and devils aside
I shalt awaken to the new dawn,
With Thorn's on mine head, dispensing mine own shine
The moon to guideth mine steps, the sun to glass mine eye's,
Às at the end of this deathly hole
I'll meeteth mine own cherub who awaiteth me, a cherub of flight
