Are pinpricks enough to pierce
this haze around your soul?
Trinkets just sufficient
to fill all those holes

Bleeding from the edges,
you'll just stain the pages.
Build the dust around
those monuments you found

Ashy smudges will be
part of the pristine legacy.
Another set of muddy bones
eventually one with the unknowns

Come take a walk with me in the rain,
Partake a share of my pain,
See the fragments of my soul,
pieces of down, others chunks of coal.

Take your shelter beneath this parisole bright,
And fend away the fears of the night,
Listen to the musings of a lonely heart,
As the night darkens and the heavens part.

The raindrops hide in my tears,
Black memories and darker souvenirs,
Waiting on this solitary land?
For the sun to shine out on the sand.

Lose yourself in the endless skies,
Drown in an ocean of sighs,
As the last rays of the sun go lilting by,
As you float up above in the sky

The gilded sky, painted with ichor
And the wind roaring like summer's laughter
weaving through hair, caressing your face;
You, standing there and staring into space...

It's the valediction of the sky to the sun
A night of separation from its companion,
The all encompassing blues,
Light up into a million hues.
