I’ve counted every firefly
I think I counted twice
Tiny lights a’ flickering
The evening is so nice

Silently among the trees
Out here as nature sings
Watching while her children play
So many wondrous things

If I could only have one wish
I’d wish you here with me
Held so tight within your arms
Is where I’d rather be

But even though you’re far away
As nighttime does impart
Forever you’ll be close to me
Right here within my heart

So as I’m counting fireflies
I know you’re counting too
Two different spots, we spend as one
*To share our love so true
Good night

28** bolts of pain
Pelting my body instantaneously.
Attacking every inch left of me, for I am gradually torn into pieces.
Bit by bit.
***** by *****.
28 tear drops to trickle down my skin.
My happiness now trimmed so short it's practically gone
28 rolls of tape to mend the remains of my broken heart.
More than 28 times we said "I love you" and "we'll never be apart."
But now you're not breathing
Your heart stopped beating
Blood stopped running
And now I'm running to the cemetery to visit you,
My loving grandfather.
My mom screams too,
But there's not much left to do but wait for heaven to once again be with you.

Sit somewhere near the water
The blue sky, sea canvas is all that we have looked forward to all day, to this everything
To this breeze between I and you
Completely captivating
There's no need for words, just breathe me in here
Inhale and exhale every pore, and every lingering desire to be
Allow the waves, as they crash in and out of us to calm this surface
Slip your hands in between mine like the very sand that is surrounding us here
Let's just stay awhile
Before the carvings in these grains get washed away again
Just like this moment between one and one
Gone before it's gone
