Choose a job that pays
Student loans and hair turns gray
Do what makes you happy they say

Poetry is joy , joy should give a US dollar
Homeless poet written on my collar

Then be a scholar
Choose a job that pays
Student loans and hair turns gray
Why can't people just give one dollar ...

my phone for hours was dead
social anxiety had me in bed
my parents told me to answer the main door
your eyes filling with tears more and more
I gave you comfy clothes to wear
cuddles to show i care
I put your keys out of sight
so you wouldnt runaway at night
I put my newest shoes on your bare feet

So I ask "why did you throw the converse on the street?"
This is part 1

Its weird getting new shoes , i either like them immediately or it takes time

our friendship is like converse , it took time
but i loved how easily it could be washed , even after a muddy climb
i mean slowly i realized that with every wash the color faded a bit
i didnt mind the change in color , becuase its a good shoe
then holes and rips developed and maybe my feet grew
I got tired of the stitches and glue
its not that i dont like you
its just its ******* me too

I had an interesting trip
To realize friendship is endship

I had a secret... I keep it in... Mommy I... I think I'm lesbian. Thoughts rushed through her head. Gosh I wanted to be dead. Did you hear me mommy? Was she going to leave me. What was running through her mind. The silence lasting a long time. Finally she spoke, baby I think you need to go. Pack your bags and leave. But mom... No I can't have your perverted lifestyle influencing my normal children. Tears streaked my checks. I had tried so hard. Mommy accept me! Mommy love me!!! Remember when I was your baby? Back when people heard me? Goodbye mommy.
A secret... Not my real coming out story.

"This is art!"
pronounced the woman who was blind.
"I've seen better,"
mused the man standing far behind.

"You're missing the meaning,"
his aunt told him over the phone.
"What a provoking piece,"
posted the professor online, sitting alone.

"A ****** depiction,"
said the professor's Facebook friend.
"You are ignorant,"
typed the lawyer, pressing send.

"I must have it!"
boomed the lawyer's wealthy client.
"But you haven't even seen it,"
the lawyer reminded the business giant.

"I don't need to see it!
I'll just send them a lot of cash!"
Four days later at his door,
the businessman found a pile of trash.

Did you know?
I have vines growing around my ribs now.
A tree growing in my guts where I used to hold galaxies.
Churning stardust catching between teeth,
Painting my lips.
Seeping out of my skin and into the sink.

I am a book of metaphors and paradox.
I am nothing at all.
I speak you fair with a liars tongue,
All made of silver and moondust.
Easy words.

I am celestial,
And though your starstuff still makes me sick in the mornings,
Picking your shine from my teeth
All your refuse still inside me wretched into the sink.
Though my limbs are scarred with an effort to see my own galaxies
I am through obsessing over celestial souls.

Too many boys and girls with stars in their eyes
Or Saturn's rings around their fingers
Have caught me with lunar promises and magic fallen from careless lips
Like meteor showers.
I'm rid of my stars.

Now I've been planting flowers in my ribs
The vines mingle with a web of forget-me-nots and bleeding hearts
Lavender buds sprouting from old scars
I pass the 3 am itch off as them growing
Learn to ignore it.
