Self-esteem
Aira Malit Jan 2015
I never tried to face my fears
I end up bursting into tears
I just want to be in the swim
Even though I am not that slim

But this year I won't be the same
I would not be that so-called "lame"
I promise to use some prudence
When I boost my self-confidence

If you're too skinny or too fat
Please remember that you're perfect
A friend will give your back a pat
It's time to show yourself respect

Try to have a conversation
To Him who made you beautiful
In His eyes there's no exemption
He will make your life colorful
So stand up, and face your fears

This is the promise that I'll keep,
I will try to have a long sleep,
A long sleep that would be so deep,
That I can't hear my cellphone's beep.

Oh, I'm so tired of all this work,
I am trying to do my best,
But my boss is a one big dork,
He thinks I'm just one of the rest.

I never thought that earning money,
Could be as hard as raising child,
But please remember this honey,
All things in the world could turn wild.

I just want to embrace my bed,
Forget all my problems and sleep,
'Cause in my dreams I would have fled,
This is the promise that I'll keep.

"Arf! Arf!"
I can see him from afar
And oh - is that a ****?
Yesterday he got hit by a car
It left him a big scar
As the years passed by
We noticed something different
It makes me want to cry
As the cancer cells destroyed his ligament
I didn't know he was sick
Until he was thin as stick
And my worst nightmare came
He's not the same, he became lame
Then he became blind
We traveled just to find
The medicines that he needed
But it was too late
His little sight and sound of us slowly faded
I guess it was the hurtful fate
He was not given to last forever
He was given for us to share memories together
For a short period of time
The sound "Arf Arf" became the best rhyme
His death anniversary is near.. I made this poem to show my love for my late dog, Bishop. He showed me the true meaning of love and loyalty. He went through a lot of challenges: he got hit by a car, he was lost and abandoned until my uncle found him, and he suffered a lot of disease. It was the hardest thing to do, letting my first love go.

Dear Diary,

Today he fought with dignity,
Ignoring his injury,
He didn't think of money,
But just the pride of his country.

I congrats you, Manny!

When* will you realize that I'm the one for you?
Don't tell me until now you never had a clue.

Oh.. wait...

Who am I to be noticed by a guy like you?
It's a pie in the sky for you to like me too.

Well...

How could I tell you about these feelings of mine?
When in fact you are giving her most of your time.

Remember..

Who makes you happy the most when you're feeling sad?
I'm always there in just one call to make you glad.

But..

What will happen if I confess to you all these?
I think you'll start ignoring me. No! Don't go! Please!

It's just all in my head..

Thinking of it made me understand something:

Why would I tell you all these if I'll just lose you?
Though we're just "friends", we can be the PERFECT TWO.

I would rather have you as a friend forever,
Than go in a relationship that lasts never.
It's what I hate about liking someone, you never know if they like you back.

Hey dear,
This New Year,
Let's be true,
Say and DO.
This is not for everyone
