i once met an old
man
who did
sudoku
with ink and
pen

black or blue
it didn't
much matter
one way
or another

so long as
it was never
pencil
he despised
pencil on
principle

on those rare
occasions
when he'd make a
mistake

he refused
to cross out the incorrect
integer

i asked him
why
one sunny
summer day
and he told me

that we can't cross out
our choices
or erase
our mishaps
we can only
turn the page

and on he went
to his next
puzzle

When I was younger,
my mother would sing
you are my sunshine,
and I knew she loved me.

When I was older,
my pap whistled to my gram
I've got sunshine on a cloudy day,
and I knew he loved her.

Now I'm grown,
and I tell you every morning
I'm a ray of sunshine,
hoping that maybe you'll love me, too.
{there are infinite ways to love someone}

Memories of you linger in me
Vanilla coconut perfect harmony
Like the sweet taste of cold Thai Tea

a straggler picked up along the way
wore out their welcome long ago
but you still want them to stay

a decadent treat
only allowed occasionally
we all know what happens with too much
of a good thing
better off with black coffee

they always come back at the worst times
in a meeting
they ask if everything is fine
of course just something in my eye

Memories of you still linger in me
Blazing orange brilliantly
Like sweet Thai Tea

Her heart was like a fall leaf, hardened  and always on the move. Losing little pieces of herself everywhere the wind took her.

I made some
Veritaserum

3 drops in your tea

Then asked
If you ever really loved me

You said *maybe

don't hug
never cry
speak weak
keep inside

slay away
fight dragons
create distractions

nothing sacred
impose treachery
make a mess of me

exploit
full blown
don't own

debilitate
bait and switch
nerve pinch

don't hug
never cry
speak weak
keep inside
