Ma Cherie
I love those appealin' eyes
you know ya can't disguise
your dimpled, stoppin' perfect smile
Never gonna go outta style
see you in a little while?
my sweet poet....

I love that I could love you
not saying that I do
cannot tell by the words I bleed
or feel the need
inside this stupid heart?
Sometimes we gotta let go
in order to grow
ya know
it's true
so...
what about me ....
and you?

I knew that smile
was going to nail me down
turn me right back around
I read my crystal ball
knowing what to whisper in your ear
told me whatcha  wanna hear
Exactly what to say
exactly what to do
exactly how...
to love you

maybe you still miss her
as I'm penning you verses
an liftin' her curses
line by line....I'm readin' your mind
you want her sometimes
I'm bleeding out these rhymes
c'mon it'd be a crime

let's go down to the swimmin' hole
maybe a lil' cold
bare feet on the dashboard
wine bottle on the floorboard
cause' were all gettin' older
we might need a shoulder
to stay when the rains comin'  down

I'll stick around...
I'm all hometown
what else can I say darlin'
to make you wanna leep
I promises to keep you
forever...
if only you'd say yes
I'd love you
If I could
I told you
I'd
confess.....
This is dedicated He Said Jenny Williams... it may not be your cup of tea I don't know but love your voice girl.... been making me think in different ways so there's a line in here and just for you.. metaphorically speaking. I could hear this sort of like a country rap song...hahaha.... did this just for fun;-) oh and thanks to Rosalind 2 for the fun idea just doing something fun!

I'm feeling melancholy for the first time,
Like, I'm glad to be riding on a
Bike, but these hills feel more like
Spikes and it kills me that you
Don't want more to this.

I'm chilling way out on a beach but
Water's polluted with plastic I
Offer to pick up the tragic
Scene yet it belittles me to be receiving
These signals of false implications

What could I have done differently?
Along the way I skipped over
Wrong words, my tongues forked
I'd like to feed you this apple
Baby this evening could be magical but...
You can't forgive my feelings from before.

So tonight as I lie alone
While you snore next to me your
Childish demeanor is insulting
Yet here I am, still by your side
Waiting for you to realize
Who I am.
Eyes.
Those eyes.
Your eyes.
Eyes of the iciest hue,
Guarded by a row of
Dark, thick lashes.

I’ve seen them in
Many states.
Creased at the edges
By a wide grin.
Red and weary
From salty tears.

You don’t see it.
How beautiful you really are.
If only I could take my eyes,
And replace them with yours,
So that you can see for yourself,
The beauty that you possess.

Thick, charcoal hair,
Pale, velvet skin, a
Set of soft pink lips,
Teeth like pearls.
A face that is perfectly
Carved and flawless.

Your eyes have a sparkle,
The kind that I have never seen.
A shimmer like the sun on a
Sapphire ocean, that I
Have drowned in so many times.
I’m lost at sea.

They say that eyes
Are “the key to the soul”,
And I have seen your soul
Many times.
Laid bare and raw,
On the soil beneath my feet.

I am hypnotized, every time
I gaze into your two
Cornflower kaleidoscopes.
They are like magnets.
Drawing me in,
Enticing me, tempting me.

Even when I am old,
Infirm and my memory
May be fading, that fond image
will never age, never decay, never rot.
It will be forever imprinted on my brain,
On my heart, on my life.
Red flags are waving
Red eyes are staring
Behind sheer curtains
When I exit the door, dreaming.
Radiating,
All around me
Scorching my skin.
It's hard to think clearly
When the storm begins.
Scabbed wings and itchy spine
I was flying, but now my teeth are starting to grind.
A familiar sequence
Clings to the back of my head
It's hard to breathe clearly
When paranoia befriends,
A real visualization
With no dead end.
Does anyone find it ironic
When we are young we are scared of the dark
Outside our windows and under our beds
But then realize the darkness growing inside
Of our very bodies, our souls and minds?
