I Am Quixotic
Quixotic Coeus Nov 2020
I am a dreamer
I wonder how many stars are left alive
I hear their distant echoes
I see their twinkling lights
I want them to never fade
I am a dreamer

I pretend that they're still there
I feel their empty void
I reach up to the bright black sky
I forebode the encroaching sombre
I dirge the infinite requiem
I am a dreamer

I perceive through blind eyes all comprehension
I whisper through sealed lips a thousand voices
I dream for a silence
I strain to stay awake
I desire nights with no dreams
I am a dreamer
This is a really basic 'I am' though I thought I'd give it a go anyway, enjoy :)

The troubles of Valentine
Quixotic Coeus Feb 2018
Roses are red, violets are blue, I know this is cliche but i... don't think this will be short enough to make a haiku.

Then there's the colours, forms of grey. On the tips of our tongues, that we are afraid to... reluctantly, but defiantly play.

We stir in the night, our minds still rouse. Ideas and thoughts keeping us away from a true... love that is as the beaches of Laos, though hear me through.

Enjoy the moment, that every second you see. This last part gets tricky but it's for you... <insert name that ends in EEEE >
I wrote this one to poke a bit of fun at the theme of 'Valentines'.

Also fun fact, Laos is landlocked, so that bit about, love is like the beaches of Laos, meant that love was almost none existent. Depends on your definition of beach though XD

Oceans Gloom
Quixotic Coeus Nov 2017
Oh gentle ocean
Why do you reflect such gloom
From cold vibrant moon
I am the ocean staring up at the night

Luctor et Emergo
Quixotic Coeus Nov 2017
Was lost, my heart so erratic
Split, drowning in thought
Never found, he emerged pragmatic
Shut, he paves through my struggles
Hidden away, We are systematic
"I struggle and emerge"

The Silent Resurrection
Quixotic Coeus Oct 2017
Silence fell without you there, I longed for the answers that you did not share

I prayed and wished for your return
At least one last goodbye...

So I traveled far, to a place of hope
Where I rediscovered myself, in searching for a way to cope

Awakened within, and set to return home soon
The memory of you a fading wound

Like the whisper of a ghost, your voice suddenly becoming clear
You had lost yourself, and those who held you dear

You were right it won't be the same,
But know that nothing can extinguish our flame

With Life slowly flowing back to how it used to be,
I Now savor every moment that you spend with me.

Cruel night
Quixotic Coeus Jun 2017
Our hearts beat with an ecstatic pulse
the spotlights lights flickering our movements,
an impulse

we break from our dance and head through the crowd
Outside we huddle under a starry sky with not one cloud

we move in close holding each other
then the music ends and I begin to shudder

out in the dark, I sit alone...

I stare up, at the terrible black sky
That was her dream, her job, to fly

Like the tear that runs down my cheek
your plane made a fiery streak

I close my eyes and play your song
Remembering a time when I was strong

Lifted Heart
Quixotic Coeus Jun 2017
The oceans waves lift, slowly each droplet rising
Reaching the height of the earth the endless stream of water fighting
Particles refracting and contracting in the sunlight
brilliant rainbows glisten in rivulets so bright

The crystal waters thrusts beyond the sky
The oceans torrents beating to its lullaby
The Moons orbit nears
The water freezing to a blizzard of tears

A river of ice drifts toward the moon engulfed in dark
The stream of shards remaining Stark
The impact is dazzling, but frightening too
I flood and spiral around, am I on cue

I am so glad we can meet and be one presence
Let us swing around and dance through the heavens
Quixotic Coeus Jun 2017
The oceans sing, the rhythm of the waves
A chorus of strings, that ripple through the days.

A simple thing, that floats in the sky
overlooking the darkness, Showing only her good side.

Her beams outstretched, with the waters below.
The dancing light, mending sorrow

Oh, how I wish
we weren’t so far apart
In body, Thought and heart

The ***** rhythm flows
The winds chilling air
The Oceans waves, in beat of the flair

Suddenly it ends with nothing to show
The Currents still turning
Time beginning to slow

The empty void fill,
brilliant specks in the sky
But the waves of the ocean
Sing only to you and I

Drifting from the depths, The real beauty of the night
Is made only by your sight
This Poem is a song

The Best Things
Quixotic Coeus Jun 2017
One can only say, through the darkest of joy

The Best Things sit in plain light, void parallels of the endless things within our sight

Action, drama, and adventure are the escape, the gloom of the heart trying so hard to change our fate

But enjoy the light no matter how dim,
because one day it will fade, and you'll be left with nothing but your sin.

Spotlight of my mind
Quixotic Coeus May 2017
Quixotic light dancing in my minds blight
Your figure a rhythmic note
Clad in black wearing your coat
Onward you stride
your lead hard to follow
Wearing your pride
defying the sorrow
You stop and gaze back
your gaze settling on me
Truly I’m taken back
how could it be
I start running
Hoping to meet
But you fade to nothing
Leaving me incomplete

What am I?
Quixotic Coeus May 2017
My eyes are white, fixed on the everlasting light.
Screams echoing through the vastness of the empty space. Though I feel nothing, it is not my place.
Am I mistaken, why am I here? I cannot know, though the silence is screaming the answer.
The murmuring whispers a deafening pain. Though I listen on, there is much knowledge to gain.
My surroundings shift, I cannot see. The screaming stops and the darkness it engulfs me.

My eyes they are black, a dull eager awaiting for that certain attack.
They sing through the limitless void, their presence an unwanted harmony that must be destroyed.
I know the answer, they are all screaming it. Are they wrong, why are they here?
The beginning awaits, but the end has passed. Forgive us those who still trespass.
The world fades again, this time I can see. All the knowledge of the universe like a treasury.
