Before he retired –
aged sixty-two –
life was a meaningful
calling for her.

Not over-radical,
more gentle and
secular – but post-
suffrage.

Her children had
left the nest, and
the story of Esther
came to mind.

She writes poetry
and helps others
less fortunate than
she is.

He puts food on the
table, and she gives
meaning to the
marital vows.

She never wanted
to emulate Steinem
or Millett – maybe
Eleanor Roosevelt.

She neither wears
a bra nor burns one
– competition only a
four-syllable word.

A day in her life is
one hand on the soup
kettle, the other on
a protest sign.

One week a month
she volunteers
at a church shelter
for the homeless.

One day a week
she picks up the
mail for a neighbor
who is bed-ridden.

When night time
comes and she lies
in bed, he massages
her feet in silence.

She hasn’t retired –
never will – not in the
shadows of the night
nor morning’s shine.

Don’t eat chicken noodle soup from a saucepan leaned back in a recliner
because your neighbor could hit his wife in the back of the head
with a cue ball and the cops might siren down your street
causing you to flinch and spill hot broth on your
chest;  I have a bone to pick with the coward.

her eyes
cracked his shell
a joy of birth
an experience
his soul trembling inside
cries for love
a force to love her
he did....
After few years
the same soul of his
needed the separation
she understood
his soul wanted just the
experience of love not her
Now
her soul released him
from her body...
They pretend
Pretend to be in awe
Pretend to love care and adore
To want a slice of my heaven
To want a slice of me
How do they intend to get that slice?
By stabbing me in the back ofcourse

don't you ever wonder about the fact that even rockstars sing about heartbreak?
i realize it now.
it's not so much about who you are or what you can do, it's more that you're human.
so, instead of looking for a nice house, like the one i used to rent, I'm going to settle for a cabin in the woods.
I'm fine with nothing, because with that, I'm guaranteed to keep it.

"Time will heal you",
is what they always say
Whenever you're hurt
and in so much pain

As time passes,
as the memories turn grey
The pain subsides
but never goes away

As time continues,
battle scars add up
You feel like quitting
but you never give up

Time will stop,
things will be better
No more agony,
only joy and laughter

I lost myself
In a sea of time
But time was lost
Before its prime
