Lick the words
from my lips
let them slide down
your throat
like fruited jewels,
   dark, hard candies
   that melt into cream
a healing liquid
oozing into my
               ventricles,
pumping milky beats
out through
           your cells
permeating the deep
of my wild

My syllables will
   wrap themselves
      around your syntax
frothy hybrids
of buttered silk
                and irony
heart-to-heart
conversations that
flow into the ether,
as heaven's night
endlessly begins

We twirl our tongues
into guttural utterings,
lustful verse
that glides from
slick-fervored ice
to an outpour
                    of lava
We feed each other
dreams
our saliva like honey
dripping with dawn's
tender glow
as we open up
like baby birds,
begging to be nourished
at all costs

Here,
in this lingual forest
Your breath finds a home
on my tastebuds,
my tongue
in your
          cheek

In between the tumults
of our
exploding oceans
This
     is how we
  love

Some day

You wouldn't understand
what I feel every time
whenever I look at you
I paint you in my mind

I become speechless
I become motionless
whenever you're here
I become somebody else

I try to reach for words
but all I hear is your voice
I try to meet your gaze
but all my efforts go in vain

I convince myself
not today
the petty condones
I make day by day

and you're here oblivious of
how much you've invaded my mind
because losing myself is so easy these days
whenever I see you from the corner of my eye

Some day I'll muster all the courage
and have a dance with you
Some day We'll sit beside each other
and have an ice scream scoop
Some day I'll smile with you
while we laugh at our weird peccadillos
Some day I'll leave behind my doubts
and you'll know what my world is without you
Dear kids
When your tooth falls out
Put it under your pillow
Because this magic stranger
Will sneak into your bedroom
Reach an arm
Right under where
You are laying your head
And leave you a
Nice surprise
Oh
And at Christmas
Let's go and sit
Right
On the lap of this creepy
Oddly dressed
Old man
Who Will sneak into your house
During the night

Valerie
once upon a time,
you painted my skies
and built my world.
you crafted a reality
of freckles spangled like
stars up your cheekbones
and the lights you lit in
my dark, hollow eyes.

once upon a time,
we were a collection
of chapped lips and bad breath,
lying on our backs on
country roads and suburban fields.
our bones were weary but still alive
with that frantic flame of
youth.

but once upon a time was then-
and we live in the now, which
is a journey I'm still going through.
and the thing about constructed realities
is they tend to fall apart (eventually)
and the thing about fires is that
they go out.

[nothing lasts forever].
it's been a while!
My heart is a messy place
I don't clean up often
My emotions lay about like worn jeans and pile up at every corner
Murky tears that were long bemoaned
Lay inside my pillowcases long after they have dried
And make heavy a light thing where my thoughts reside
Shadowy folks have  unmade beds
Though long beparted
And declared dead
Many things that was once fresh
Have now grown brown reached their Autumn
They still roam the halls and vents
Like after tastes of mint long after the in scents have burnt
Every possible surface is stained with faces
Shelves are stacked and layered and stuffed
And though I rummage for space
There is never enough
Not for an ant
Or a hand
Or a new thing
Just room enough for me
And this big old mess of memories
