We saw her leaving Jericho
Tearing down the walls
Throwing a childish tantrum
Whilst ******* in the halls

We saw her chasing pigeons
In the local council park
We caught her chewing daffodils
Whilst humming 'Baby Shark'

She drank a lot
Ate nothing much
But the ice
Inside the tube

Grit her teeth
Swallowing bubbles
The plastic straw
The noxious fumes

She was forever
Chasing a high
That cost too much
And left too soon

We saw her licking batteries
Relaying messages to Earth
We caught her hiding sanitary towels
Underneath the dirt

That lined the filthy walls
Of her low-rent, low-mood high-rise
Ghosts that wraithed inside her head
Left bruises on her thighs

We saw her join the homeless men
In the shadow of the mall
She combed the streets every day
And still found sweet **** all

She sang a lot
And never slept
Beneath the weight
Of a poisoned sky

We knew she was sad
All the time
But we never saw her
Cry

We saw her live
Her lonesome life
Even saw her when she
Died

From the other side of hell
We decorate our homes
Forget the fine line
The thin divide

Between our professional smile
And the crazy inside our bones

Falling for you was so effortless,
that my heart is still bruised from the crashing halt.

You are the most completely, utterly, positively heartbreaking thing I have ever felt.

Days some endless
Go on towards that infinity
Approach happiness love
Joy
Become circled memories
In a love letter
Or a poem read  years forever
After alone

if i came to you with solemn
could we pretend things were fine
rest your head on my chest
with our heart beat rhymes

if i came to you swollen
would you fetch frozen peas
dampen the dark circles
around my eyes

if i came with a gift
from an overseas trip
smuggled through customs
for your surprise

it's foggy in our kitchen
it's foggy in my head
let's talk till morning turns night

logging all those tears
on the back porch with wolves
blessed be the saints of sunrise

Sing with me
Whether we’re laying in the bed of a hotel room, half past three
Or sitting in a car, well past dark
Listen to our hearts and recite our lovely parts
Hum along to our sacred song as we watch the sun set over the endless horizon
And I’ll beg that you sleepily sing again with me as we watch it rise in the morning
I’ll kiss your sweet lips before the cup of coffee does
And our departing hug will be magic and snug as we say our goodbyes before the morning dew
I’ll hear you whistle along to our tune and I know when you come home you won’t have to sing alone
We are better together- a duet cannot work unless both parts are heard
Sing with me till the sands of time run out
Cast away the doubt that our love won’t sprout wings and take us to distant lands where we may forever walk together, hand in hand
