Each and every single day,
Doesn't matter what I do,
You're always here to make me pay,
For all the pain I've put you through.
A shallow shell of long lost love,
A vengeful scourge with black tar tears,
You're always here to give more of
My memories, regrets and fears.

You've cursed me, shackled me,
Forever with unyielding chains,
That won't let my heart go free.
My heart bleeds in its constraints.
It yearns for you, its own maltreater,
A masochistic kind of love,
"I don't want life. I only need her!"
It prays and begs to up above.

The chains grow spikes, the blood is pouring,
Every day, a hard fought battle,
And through it all, my heart's imploring
For one last day when it could have her.

No matter where I look,
No matter how much more I run,
Even as I write this book,
I know you'll be my only one.
And even if you've ever cursed me,
I'll accept my lonely fate,
A punishment for all my wronging,
One that I could never hate.

I remember that grim spark in your eyes,
All the deep scars you'd disguise,
Those were all the scars I caused.
Hidden past of hate and cries,
And our future that I robbed.

I saw it even as we'd speak,
'Twas like you accepted defeat.
You tried to love me like before,
But we both knew it was deceit,
You couldn't love me anymore.

Even still, you tried your best
To forget of all the rest,
And be happy with what you had,
Even through all the unrest,
And all the times I made you sad.

Like a dream, we were together,
Nothing matters whatsoever!
It's like the first day that I met her.
But then why...
Do I feel this looming foreboding?

I knew my victory was fleeting,
That past patterns were repeating,
But I didn't know that day,
Was to be our last replay.

I'll never forget your smile,
Even though it was denial,
I still loved every second of it.
Please... Stay with me a while,
Don't leave me, just for a while...

I remember that hopeless light in your eyes,
You knew it was over, and your love dies,
I knew I was approaching my demise.
I couldn't stop it even if I tried.
Now it's my turn to cry.

You're gone now,
And you are happy.
I'm grateful for
How much you loved me.

Goodbye now to you, to our love,
And to the last day you loved me.
I wish I could turn back time

Midst the lorn, forsaken land of living,
Came upon, a lonely girl.
To this wasteland she was giving
Purpose, brightness like a pearl.

Fire burning, souls alike,
Both with tears and hearts with spikes.
Tried their shot at ****** love.
What was thought, a peaceful dove.

Made of ice, then made of fire,
Each fought so hard this endless war.
One day low, then one day higher,
No matter what, they yearned for more.

So hear me darling,
My silver lining,
When you feel you are of coal
Please remember,

You're my diamond,
And you save this empty soul.
First love can be so overwhelming and painful, especially if it's between two young and incompatible beings. As much as they wish things could work out, the unfortunate truth always keeps catching up to them. This is a poem conveying such love. Showing both the good, and the bad. Yet love prevails, for now...
