In a moment,
things change
Rearrange
Leaving us yearning
for a past
That is gone
That plays like an old,
much-loved song
A haunting melody.

Today is not the same as yesterday
nor will tomorrow be
And this is
how life is
For you and me

It’s
Sweet and bitter
Beautiful and aching
And utterly
heartbreaking

Yet the human spirit
In crevices, finds a flower
Revels in the rainbow after a shower
Holds on to the sun peering through clouds.
Catches a smile in a crowd —
I guess this is what we are about

Confidence used to be
Like a shelf I couldn’t ever quite
Reach.

But turns out, I just needed to
Get up off of my
Knees.

Heaven, earth, sea interlude

From the  spaces of stars
to its death,
from heaven back to
the  oceans depth,
from the mountain peaks to
dewy glens,

I love you from moon to saturn.
bert is no name for a storm, more like a neighbour in green road that time back, or the uncle  i was told of yet never met.

grey flannels with braces and maybe a moustache.  growing vegetables down the back and interested in  pigeons.

even a foster parent  playing the guitar to make one feel comfortable

while feeding you a kipper  for supper.

perhaps then an apt name after all
