Never Forget
James Willings Jan 2019
Never forget
You’re not too young to die
But never let that stop you
From living

Never forget
That everyone gets hurt
But never let that stop you
From taking risks

Never forget
That people will always judge
But never let that stop you
From being who you want

My M
James Willings Feb 2019
When your sweet taste hits my lips
I can feel my problems fade away
Like the setting sun
On a bad day

When I have you near
I can’t feel down
Indeed, you make me feel
Like the merriest of clowns

Even if our love may be forbidden
And even if I decide to leave you one day
I shall always love you
I shall always love my M

Swan Song
James Willings Apr 2019
These walls hold no comfort
For a man in my shoes.
They inspire no happiness,
And nothing but blues

I'm out of time,
Out of place,
There's no more devotion.
And with these words,
I make one final notion

No more will you cry
For now I move on.
You must understand,
This is my swan song.

But do not feel bad,
And rather, rejoice
For a massive finale
I'll conjure with voice

Let them come and take me
I know what I've done
But I also know
That I've sung my swan song

I wish I knew you
Like I’ve been dying to
But every man has his time
And mine has yet to cross your mind

We run the risk
Of this charade falling apart
But trust me when I say
That I can mend your broken heart

Surely I know you
In the way you know me
But that’s not enough
Well who am I to call your bluff

We run the risk
Of this charade falling apart
But trust me when I say
That I can mend your broken heart

Millions
James Willings Jan 2019
Millions of words
And not a single one
Says it all

Millions of fake happies
And not a single one
Captures the real thing

Millions of people
And not a single one
Will ever feel like you

Goodbye
James Willings Jan 2019
I know it’s been a while
Since we’ve been able to talk.
I’ve been waiting here
While you’re already gone.

We both said some things
I’m sure we’ve thought about.
But no amount of thought
Can undo what’s come to pass.

I lie awake at night
Remembering our love,
The passion that it fed
And the troubles that it caused.

I wish I could have stopped you
From tearing it apart.
But wishes can’t always come true
And I think that’s why I lost you.

If only I had said goodbye.

Living
James Willings Jan 2019
I remember when I felt it first
The pleasant quench of a longing thirst
Like everything was lightened
And lifted

I had never known such golden days
Oh how I melted when I met that gaze
She was amazing
And freeing

The way she held herself so high
Spoke to me, saying “don’t stand by”
So I went to her
And started
Living
