serenity
Shandré Izette Dec 2020
sand exasperatingly tickles skin
as waves roaringly crashes upon it
a deafening wind agitates hair
as it rumbles through air
                   in all its chaos
                                       I find tranquillity

Ethereal
Shandré Izette Dec 2020
what would you do
if it was just me and you
with nothing else
but just the moon
lighting up your bedroom
would you look in my eyes
maybe then you'd realise
that what I see in you
it's brighter than any sunrise
would you dance for me
as the stars gleamed
as we talk about space
laying in arms
would be the perfect place
would we at the night sky stare
would you be playing with my hair
or would that be too much
of an intimate touch
so as the dawn breaks
and the world starts to shake
the morning breeze wanders
I can't help but ponder
what would you do
if it was just me and you?

Drugged
Shandré Izette Dec 2020
Love is just a drug,
don't get addicted.

****, ecstasy, mandrax.
All these substances but
when they ask me for drugs,
I tell them about Your smile.

I try and try
but this rehabilitation,
it just isn't working.
I need something stronger.

****, ecstasy, mandrax
I try all these things
to remove You from my mind.
But when I see You smile,
I get lost in Your eyes.

Problem is...
You not smiling at me.

Your cheeky smile
and those big brown eyes.
I need to forget You!
I need You out of my mind!

You drained my soul,
weakened me to the bone.
To me, You were poison.
Killing me slowly, but still
Your love,
it was my drug.
And I,
I can't get rid of my addiction

Dream/Nightmare
Shandré Izette Dec 2020
I always thought,
what am I without You?
But what am I with you?

A soul-less body.
You were to build me up, but instead
You were a wrecking ball, rummaging through
the walls of my life, leaving me
broken down.

Every kiss, a pint of venom.
Every word, an injection of poison.
How could I have not seen?

Every word a lie.
Until you spoke the truth,
Stung like a bee.
Hurt like a stampede.

And as I lay my head a rest,
You probably out being happy
while I am a mess.

You were my downfall.
You were my favourite mistake.
A nightmare, disguised
as a daydream
