I won’t make you choose between me and you
It’s not fair considering all we’ve been through
And although I know this is out of the blue
I hope you know that i’ve missed you too.

It seems I’ve had one foot out the door
And in the beginning I know you felt more
But time has since past with its endings galore
So here I am, alone, walking along the shore

Listening to the waves crash upon the land
I’m reminded that heartbreak will never be planned
But much like the sea loves kissing the sand
I will forever miss holding your hand

“Merry Christmas,
I guess.”

Christmas spirit fills the room
but not the heart
of the solemn girl in the corner

Joyous smiles try
to “cheer” up the
young scrooge

The only thing that
will “cheer” this
little grinch

Is the thought that
those smiles of distant relatives
will soon be on their way home

She doesn’t hate Christmas
just the anxiety that
comes with entertaining relatives

As the last family member
steps out onto the porch
she finally smiles

“Merry Christmas!”
social anxiety is real, friends.

My Last Poem

Q
So this journey has come to an end
Whether you don’t know me at all
Or think of me as your best friend
This is my goodbye, my final call.

Thank you for the adventure; thank you for your time. I have nothing left to give, no words left to rhyme. This is my last, I’ll leave with a whisper. This is all I have, what I began writing for.

Should you ever neeed a shoulder, please find me. No matter where I go in life, where you need me is where I’ll be. Hold me tightly in your thoughts and I will hold you in my heart.

Merry meet, dear rhymers, and merry part.
This is the last of my poetry. Thank you for sticking it out with me for the past four years. I've decided to focus on other goals I have since my life is essentially falling apart. Poetry was an outlet for me, but it more feels like another way to indulge my burgeoning escapism.

So, I've decided to take away the place I escape to so I can relearn how to face problems head on. I've got a lot of self-adjustments to make in the near future and this is just one of them.

Of course, if I am contacted on HP, I'll come flying back to respond because it's been home for years, but I will (most likely, hopefully, probably) no longer post here.

Again: Thank you for the fond memories,
Q.

Rain

Have you ever watched out the window
While driving in the pouring rain
Have seen the dark clouds
Covering the blue sky

Have you ever watched the stressed people
While driving by the other cars
Have seen the sad faces
Hiding thoughts behind it

Have you ever watched the children in the backseat
While standing on a red light
Have seen the laughing faces
Playing with their toys

Have you ever watched the racing raindrops
While driving down the highway
Have seen them getting bigger and faster
Catching up with each other

Until they reach the end of the glass
Winning or losing the race
it doesn't matter when they fall
down in the river on the highway
