Swords and Roses
Affectionate flakes kiss my skin softly in the early morning.

You've got stars in your eyes
And dew drops on your cheeks
You wake every mornin'
At a quarter to three
In a valley somewhere
You decided you needed to be

And you never call me
But I still hear your voice
Like ghosts on a stairwell
Just making noise
And I cannot let myself dwell

Cause if I stay too long
I just might drown
in the space you left
In the chatter around
My heart beats in time
To the records you played
But I'm still all alone
At the end of the day
Unless you can count your ghost
1/4 of a song maybe?

The black veil shrouds my vision
I can't see in front of me, I can't see behind
I walk on, purely out of fear for what will happen if I stop
I walk for what seems like an eternity
I panic, wondering if I'll ever escape this void
I scream, hoping someone will hear
I beg to hear another voice
I plead for relief from this torture
I start to consider stopping
I want this to end
I can't carry on like this
Nobody to help me
Nobody to care
Nobody to lift the veil
No reason to continue.

vircapio gale
gull at sunset --
streak of pink
across a sickle moon.

'
gull at sunset --
pink breast between two wings,
white as missing moon.

gull at clear sunset --
silent heartbeat under down,
pink against the rays.

moonless sunset --
a gull's crescent wings
dip toward the skyline.

moonless sunset --
a gull's breast of down burns pink
between two pale wings.

moonless sunset --
crescent wings carry a gull's
pink breast through the blue.

clear autumn sunset --
blue sky, white wings and
a gull's hot pink breast.

clear blue sky at sunset --
a gull's pink breast
between two white, sickle wings.

gull at sunset --
clearly red, white and blue
mean more than freedom.

moonless sunset --
white crescent wings catch the sun,
pink gull held aloft.
