in this empty field
once stood an empty house
in this empty house
an empty family
in this family
once stood a full child
until this family
emptied this child out

in this empty child
once stood a human being
behind this empty smile
emptied of their needs
in this empty house
in this empty family
where this child found out
on what empty feeds

A senryu*

*Fellow poet pointed out this was a senryu, not a haiku.  Thank-you! ;)

I don't care if she hates me
If that's what makes her happy.
I hurt her too many times to expect love in return.
If I could change the past, I would,
I never meant to hurt her.
I stay awake, thinking about how this could have been different.

I stopped loving you
The moment you stopped loving me
And I wonder what this says about me
That I do not love other people
Unless they love me
And I do not say I love you
Unless they say it first.

dailythoughts
scared to be alone
I rather live in your betrayals
comfort in your haunting lies
I never wanted
to be
what you
turned me into,
but I will
live with it,
for I
don't know
how else to live
with myself.
Dying feels easy, it's the living which is the hard part.

When you're faced with a dilemma
On the direction you should turn
Dig deep you'll find it in ya
From past lessons you have learned

Be the purveyor of good news
Give the people a reason to sing
Hold on tight and then let loose
...Do the right thing

When the crowd is heading down
While stringing you along
You don't dare echo the sound
On all that can go wrong

No matter the pressure stand your ground
Be it shallow, be it deep
Even if you're the only one around
...Do the right thing

When you are battered to and fro
One side says yes the other no
You might find it hard to cope
Never once give up hope

Let nothing stand in your way
If you must, go against the grain
Anymore need I explain
...Do the right thing

letting you go
costed less
than keeping
the pain your
presence brought
