Each dawn's light, a new day's embrace,
Yet, all seems familiar, the same.
Yet, all has shifted, with subtle grace,
A flick of time, a new world's game.

A year transforms, a life's new refrain,
A translation of all we knew.
But change's embrace, we can't quite explain,
Not until time's tapestry weaves anew.
frost laced teeth of cracked leather
course through bare back thighs
frigid sheen of yellowed ivory
caress tentative fingertips
nose, cheek and ear
incline then enquire
old smell, old sound
ancient piano sing
Hold on
Wait
I already have to much on my plate
Can't go on
Not at this rate
I'll inevitably be crushed by the weight
I'm on
Rebuild eight
At least my life doesn't ever deviate
Will stumble upon
Checkmate
Continuation impossible in this state

I am lonely,
I switch on the T.V.,
Radio,
Or open a book to read.

Spring...

gardens adorned
in resplendent floral blooms
lovely of display

Summer...

sunbathers shall lie
on golden beaches of sand
lulled by the sea

Autumn...

plain's grasses turn beige
as fall's air bleaches each blade
of its verdant tone

Winter...

snow clad pinnacles
make for an impressive sight
upon the skyscape
