The tears of a rose
Will soak and stain
They're from her heart
They're stored up rain

They come from heaven
To flow down thorns
They sing in screams
From her lips torn

They can be acid
To burn the bloom
They can be crystal
Reflecting moons

The rose will open
In dead of night
The tears from petals
Refract the light

They cascade down
Drop from the leaves
For her soul
She sits and grieves

For her soul
The drops fall down
They feed her roots
Under the ground

They bring her back
The legend goes
There's healing in

Tears of a rose

I was talking to a friend this evening. Praying with her. She just endured a tremendous life setback. Said she couldn't stop crying. This metaphor came to my mind. This poem is for my dear friend. It is my sincerest hope that it brings healing.

I'm really sorry i haven't been reading. I have excellent reasons, of which some of you are aware. I just don't want you to think that I don't care. I do. I just have a lot on my plate. Thanks for understanding.

Today is a very special day
I don't know which words to say
But I hope that you are okay
Even if you just slept all day

I've been thinking a lot of things
Like crafting or buying gifts
But I failed to save up for these
Instead, I'm here writing this

I used to spend days writing our papers
Always saying, there's still time for later
But writing sweet poems such as this
It took me just minutes, I won't remiss

Today marks your young adult year
New doors will open, and the light is near
I hope you're having fun with your mates
Drinking and laughing like old time's sake

Awesome Annie
I always thought it was brave of Wendy,  to love a boy who refused to grow. To get caught up in his wonderlust, to fly and mock the crow.

She let him sweep her off her feet, with dust that shined so bright. He wrapped his arms around her waist, and they fled into the night.

Love is a curse in Neverland, unbroken by gypsy magic of old. Peter has a reputation though, tales among the campfire told.

The crocodile turned its clock back, to synchronize with Wendy's furious cries. The lost boys lined up with tissues, to sob their last goodbyes.

Maybe Wendy fell apart when she returned home, emotion finally giving to tears. Only in dreams will she remember him now, as her Neverland disappears.

After a while you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn’t mean leaning
And company doesn’t mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren’t contracts
And presents aren’t promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open.
And you learn to build all your roads on today
Because tomorrow’s ground is too uncertain for plans
And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.
After a while you learn…
That even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your garden and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure…
That you really are strong
And you really do have worth…
And you learn and learn…
With every good-bye you learn.

I don’t write often
I can’t rhyme for ****
I’m still figuring out
My vocabulary’s limit

Who am I kidding?
I lack such dimension
To find hidden meaning
In rap lyrics, let alone alliteration.

How many syllables in a stanza?
I stopped keeping count
How many more horrible poems
Until I acquire a Hello Poetry account?

To be very honest
As I typed this at 10 in the morning
My inspiration was heartbreak
And some bottled up feelings

So for the time being,
I shall improve on wordplay
The sad poems can come later
When he leaves me in disarray.
My first attempt at poetry, please forgive me.
