If this is a mistake
I'm not afraid of making it

sunrain afternoon
in these days of sheltering on the isle-of-isolactation,
a place amazingly located just ‘bout everywhere,
staying occupado is muy importanto

taught myself Latvian, can identify a thousand Avian,
can vacuum the house in ten minutes flat,
can count my steps mentally walking from the bed
to the kitchen and on the way back again, detour via the den

when I get really bored, sneak away to grab the laundry
from the dryer, I’m on fire, desirous of my sanity, fold them twice,
so they’ll be enough nice to meet her exacting standards,
going directly into her highest level, Type A,  storage drawers

but hit a snag, on certain articles of activewear, not to mention
you know, the unmentionables, which don’t present corners or angles
to lend novice folders directional cues, cannot even determine
which is inside out, or outside out, with too many bedeviling straps

too proud to ask for directions, after all I am a grown man,
checked youtube buddy, they had no clue, unless it was a tutorial
on how to remove them bodices from them body, which I will,
study later...but I winged it except for those couple of items

which I hid under her too many bed pillows!

to wonder is simple and human and fine;
but it is to relinquish control that’s divine.

Traveler
Last year’s leaves incapacitated in an icy grave..
Burly cattails poking up through the surface of the icy lake.
With my back  on the dock my feet resting comfortably
on the bright reflective white ice, from here I write.
The air temperature at 40 Fahrenheit seems like summer,
I soak up the beautiful rays while fumbling with my device.
Two Canadian snow geese fly over honking
catching my dog and my attention, our eyes follow their flight.
Green, grey and brown quacking  mallards swim along the melted shore line, it's mating time.
Puffy black squirrels hopping from tree to tree a jungle gym
high above in the forest canape. Over. way over on the other side of the lake I see deer near the shore line. I try to bring them to my dogs nearsighted attention but only my human eye can see.
Today the world looks beautiful from these poetic eyes.

I see the ship
sink
just off the coast;
darkness at the
end of
the tunnel.

Is that thunder
rolling in from
the east;
a tornado, an earthquake, a flood?

Is that sound I
hear the pounding of
hooves outside my window?

No
it's just the noise my
eyes make when they
open.
