Of all the things you could have done
You chose to walk this route
You chose to hang your head this low
To lie and sigh and pout

Amongst your loved ones you live a lie
And tell the truth you'd rather die
A road of pity, sorrow, and pain
And it's far too late to change your lane
My latest poem for the site. With everything going on right now, I need something to keep me away from the physical plane for awhile. Or at least until it comes creeping back in.

Oh this grey prison of our waking eyes,
It is colder than our long-lived and taciturn tides,
The moon smiles, beaming, upon our wavering way,
Knowing that our fervent sun will soon set fire to our new day.

This stranger pain and that neighbour sorrow,
They are jealous of the colours we are saving for tomorrow,
To blot them with night's ink is their insidious intent,
Let us hold our precious currency of colours, even until our last breath is spent.

The advent of our springtime seems as unlikely as our salvation,
Perhaps our darker clouds will begin to cry for our hydration,
Those tears would greet that arid soil like the dew drops greet the morn,
And from the dearest droplets fall, our spring is here, our spring is born.

Closed every door by myself.
Struggling even to stand up.
Burning within, back facing the floor
barely breathing
barely alive.
one thing running through my mind,
What if I knew back then
what I know right now?
What I really was
and now I'm ****** up in between!

Now is no time for whining
no place to complain.
Your aggression, turn it to focus.
Its like the fuel,
burn it to race your raging engine!
Might've been failing
but never stop trying.
After all you've been through
Or all that could've been,
now you've come closer
to what you've been doing!

For you I try to be less depressed
The most important part of my life is you

I keep feelings close
Closer than my own

Yet
Not close enough
I keep your love like a promise
LC Nov 2019
my love carries
the scent of vanilla perfume.
it drifts through me,
then dances with the wind
until it finally reaches him,
the man a thousand miles away,
and brings us closer together.
I see you in music
notes are steps
closer to you
press play and
we never pause
"music" and "you" can be read as the first words of the next line
