Lost at sea

Some days I am swimming,
most days I am sinking.
There is never a day where I
can simply just float.

If I die today
Not much in the world would change
A clump of cells gone,
Dreams extinguished, Love dissolved
Bookshelves left to rot.
Loved ones crying will move on
God knows where I'd be
Might as well take it easy
And enjoy what's left of me

A tear trickled down my eye,
He was there ready to make me smile,
With one of his witty and allusive remarks.
I won't be lying if I say that
He has the potential of turning grey to
All of the colors of a rainbow's arc.

I long for love
without heartache.
To be free from pain,
loss,
failure,
and sadness.
In a world shrouded in darkness,
I long for the light.
you can't have a rainbow without a little rain

Sometimes I wonder
if noise had a colour
then what shade
would silence be

I flew into your enchantment
lost all life in my limbs
as I sunk in your land
of astonishing greatness

I was evaporating
in your escape
splitting apart
like a drifting star
like the sky and sea
like a broken bridge
my body becoming
your heart of wonder

I was in your wings
of eternal heaven
seeping into your
groovy hips
your hands finding
the key to my locked door
unlocking my world
as your magnetism
reeled me in closer to you

Sanctuary is here; hiding in plain sight
Bedimmed beings step into the light
Stumble upon you may; hear us you might
All is welcome; no guard dogs that bite

Step inside, matters not armed or unarmed
Come as you are; steady or alarmed
Sip and drink from our collective fountains
Rest your eyes on our self painted mountains

Come on close and meet us all
Under shady trees or beyond the knoll
Some of us don masks or hide behind names
Some come naked but we're all one and the same

See our lives, spun from heavy layered bales
Woven intricate telling fantastic tales
Weavings we let fly, to catch each other's fables and stories
We admire them for what they are and the seed each carries

Be aware... Should you not understand
We may bear similar signatures but wear different brands
We, the people, trade in euphemisms
Broken sentences and long forgotten idioms

We are weavers, dreamers and scribes
Pouring here the outside world we imbibe
We are unguarded hearts speaking in metaphoric tongues
We provide safe haven for bruised souls with punctured lungs

So welcome traveler, shed your load
You might like it here in our coveted abode
Revel in the monochromatic sights you see
Where freedom of thought is revered in this here Sanctuary...

I am a warrior.
Stronger than her demons.
Braver than the darkness.

Being a poet
is both a pain and a privilege.

All you do is
bleed your emotions
on a thousand pages
while people sing your praises
for ages.
Only a poet will understand.
