A dance to remember,

Remember that day, filled with sways?
Those turns, those movements,

The stares, those heart to heart feelings.

I loved you for a thousand years., were the most wonderful lyrics.

Was danced by us.

When we dance, I am happiest
When we dance, I am also saddest.
Happiest, for every time we dance our love,
Gets deeper and deeper.

Was when you turned back and ended our love.

High School Me

I am 'one of the guys' in a house of tacky wallpaper and 70's carpet
I am a reader of the piles of 80's national geographic covering my floors
I look out my window and have a clear view of a disintegrating trampoline and a rotting deck
I constantly hear calls of "IS THE LAUNDRY DONE?!" followed by, "I'm just too sick, Perri"
I am from a house constantly smelling of smoke, if you follow the scent you'll find a sick yet content man I call dad
I am the over-thinker, over analyzer of the group of 5 I refer to as my best friends
I am the wishful thinker who dreams of one day finding someone who respects and cares for me
I am from a town where a ****** named Ray Ray walks the streets, as elders stay in their 60's inspired homes
I am from a neighbourhood with churches on every corner, churches very few attend
I am from a family where the old speak in British accents and lovers of Yorkshire pudding drench it with gravy
I am the mother of an aging, energetic feline who rules the house
I am the author of a journal I keep all my thoughts in

My Beloved Fly On Wall

You my behove’d
I shall love forever
and a day.

You were my icing
on cake of life.
When you left unexpectedly
stars stopped shinning
and heart exploded
in rough waves that
rolled down face.

Days darkened
where only solace was
my bed and holding
memories.

How could life be so cruel
I thought for we both
just started a relationship.
We both knew we had soul connection
as you showered me with unconditional love.

And soon after
feeling stuck in hourglass of time,
where sands smothered me
I awakened to see your face
in a ray of sun.
When I heard voice of bird sing
with notes that changed into words
I listened.

“Wake up and look.
See me I am in everything. I
am in the gentle breeze to give you a hug,
and Spanish fly whispering in your ear love songs.
I am in moment that expands with sunlight to warm heart.
I’m inside your heart beat that plays with memories.
I am in song that echoes reminding
that I am still sending you unconditional love.
I am now your spirit guide
and shan’t live you side.”

With deep breath
I turned on the radio
and there played.

I cried happy tears
and started to live again.

Now, whenever I hear

I think of you Curtis dear.
You are my shinning star
and whispering Spanish fly
on wall serenading me with love.
