"festal" poems
I bring ye wine from above, From the vats of the storied sun; For every one of yer love, And life for every one. Ye shall dance on hill and level; Ye shall sing in hollow and height In the festal mystical revel, The rapurous Bacchanal rite! The rocks and trees are yours, And the waters under the hill, By the might of that which endures, The holy heaven of will! I kindle a flame like a torrent To rush from star to star; Your hair as a comet’s horrent, Ye shall see things as they are! I lift the mask of matter; I open the heart of man; For I am of force to shatter The cast that hideth -Pan! Your loves shall lap up slaughter, And dabbled with roses of blood Each desperate darling daughter Shall swim in the fervid flood. I bring ye laughter and tears, The kisses that foam and bleed, The joys of a million years, The flowers that bear no seed. My life is bitter and sterile, Its flame is a wandering star. Ye shall pass in pleasure and peril Across the mystic bar That is set for wrath and weeping Against the children of earth; But ye in singing and sleeping Shall pass in measure and mirth! I lift my wand and wave you Through hill to hill of delight : My rosy rivers lave you In innermost lustral light.. I lead you, lord of the maze, In the darkness free of the sun; In spite of the spite that is day’s We are wed, we are wild, we are one.

Oh what is that country And where can it be, Not mine own country, But dearer far to me? Yet mine own country, If I one day may see Its spices and cedars, Its gold and ivory. As I lie dreaming It rises, that land; There rises before me Its green golden strand, With the bowing cedars And the shining sand; It sparkles and flashes Like a shaken brand. Do angels lean nearer While I lie and long? I see their soft plumage And catch their windy song, Like the rise of a high tide Sweeping full and strong; I mark the outskirts Of their reverend throng. Oh what is a king here, Or what is a boor? Here all starve together, All dwarfed and poor; Here Death's hand knocketh At door after door, He thins the dancers From the festal floor. Oh what is a handmaid, Or what is a queen? All must lie down together Where the turf is green, The foulest face hidden, The fairest not seen; Gone as if never They had breathed or been. Gone from sweet sunshine Underneath the sod, Turned from warm flesh and blood To senseless clod; Gone as if never They had toiled or trod, Gone out of sight of all Except our God. Shut into silence From the accustomed song Shut into solitude From all earth's throng, Run down though swift of foot, Thrust down though strong; Life made an end of, Seemed it short or long. Life made an end of, Life but just begun; Life finished yesterday, Its last sand run; Life new-born with the morrow Fresh as the sun: While done is done for ever; Undone, undone. And if that life is life, This is but a breath, The passage of a dream And the shadow of death; But a vain shadow If one considereth; Vanity of vanities, As the Preacher saith.

SWEET daughter of a rough and stormy fire, **** Winter's blooming child ; delightful Spring ! Whose unshorn locks with leaves And swelling buds are crowned ; From the green islands of eternal youth, (Crown'd with fresh blooms, and ever springing shade,) Turn, hither turn thy step, O thou, whose powerful voice More sweet than softest touch of Doric reed, Or Lydian flute, can sooth the madding winds, And thro' the stormy deep Breathe thy own tender calm. Thee, best belov'd ! the ****** train await With songs and festal rites, and joy to rove Thy blooming wilds among, And vales and dewy lawns, With untir'd feet ; and cull thy earliest sweets To weave fresh garlands for the glowing brow Of him, the favour'd youth That prompts their whisper'd sigh. Unlock thy copious stores ; those tender showers That drop their sweetness on the infant buds, And silent dews that swell The milky ear's green stem. And feed the slowering osier's early shoots ; And call those winds which thro' the whispering boughs With warm and pleasant breath Salute the blowing flowers. Now let me sit beneath the whitening thorn, And mark thy spreading tints steal o'er the dale ; And watch with patient eye Thy fair unfolding charms. O nymph approach ! while yet the temperate sun With bashful forehead, thro' the cool moist air Throws his young maiden beams, And with chaste kisses woes The earth's fair ***** ; while the streaming veil Of lucid clouds with kind and frequent shade Protect thy modest blooms From his severer blaze. Sweet is thy reign, but short ; The red dog-star Shall scorch thy tresses, and the mower's scythe Thy greens, thy flow'rets all, Remorseless shall destroy. Reluctant shall I bid thee then farewel ; For O, not all the Autumn's lap contains, Nor Summer's ruddiest fruits, Can aught for thee atone Fair Spring ! whose simplest promise more delights Than all their largest wealth, and thro' the heart Each joy and new-born hope With softest influence breathes.

A huge crowd thronged the temple premises Its vicinity, already bursting in color With people in hundreds streaming in The young and the old clad in festal attire With fire in their hearts n' festive sheen in their eyes Not driven by piety, mostly to enjoy the fanfare Festoons decorated trees that lined the compound Colorful lamps blinked everywhere Sacred bells, chiming intermittent At the auspicious hour, as devotional songs rent the air The chief deity was brought out of the shrine And was placed on the caparisoned elephant Accompanied by pulsating percussion ensemble The devotees cheered witnessing the majestic entourage Within them the fervid spring of joy swelled Colorful umbrellas were unfurled Drawing synchronized patterns in the air Under the glare and noise, the heat and sweat Amid the tumultuous beat of trumpets And the rhythmic sounding of cymbals The crowd swayed in psychedelic lassitude An army of hawkers had already set up shops Each made it a time to earn some bucks Selling knickknacks and goodies to tempt children From ice creams to popcorn and colorful balloons Children ran around licking cotton candies Some enjoyed blowing up soap bubbles And iridescent orbs landing softly on their hair and dress With dusk fall, the ceremonious fire work began The crowd stood aghast at the pyrotechnic display Scintillating colors and confetti of sparks painted the sky Shooting spears rose high and fluorescent rainbow colors Came dancing down, fire wheels swiveled on the ground Deadening roar of crackers and thunderous blast of ***** Tore the sky announcing the sleepy world; ‘It was once again festival time for the people to rejoice

It is the day when he was born, A bitter day that early sank Behind a purple-frosty bank Of vapour, leaving night forlorn. The time admits not flowers or leaves To deck the banquet. Fiercely flies The blast of North and East, and ice Makes daggers at the sharpen'd eaves, And bristles all the brakes and thorns To yon hard crescent, as she hangs Above the wood which grides and clangs Its leafless ribs and iron horns Together, in the drifts that pass To darken on the rolling brine That breaks the coast. But fetch the wine, Arrange the board and brim the glass; Bring in great logs and let them lie, To make a solid core of heat; Be cheerful-minded, talk and treat Of all things ev'n as he were by; We keep the day. With festal cheer, With books and music, surely we Will drink to him, whate'er he be, And sing the songs he loved to hear.

In Memoriam A. H. H. OBIIT MDCCCXXXIII: Part 107
Lyrical James, Lyrical James, So down to the nip, Consumed to the tip, His world ripped apart Thus, shattering his heart. Life can be mystical, His image had been lyrical, Successful in each pace, Unique and ace, It fell right in place. Lyrical James, Typical James, Those devious games, Left him displaced, He felt so misplaced, Far below grime, He'd wished for a swing in time, Where he'll be strong again, When his merited cause was tall and plain, Those lost days, he aches to regain. Lyrical James, Elegiacal James, Again he sees her from a distance He blew for a glance, All he got was bounce, Plus meaningful pounce, Those festal days are long gone,    He was now all alone. Lyrical James Mystical James, He follows the box, From sunrise 'til sunset, Again he sees her smile, So near, yet an unreachable mile, Success she possesses Enrichment she precedes, His lyrical companion, Now stands as a champion, Thus deadly like a scorpion, The dominion of the Eves, Em devilish mimics angels, thieves….. Lyrical James, Beloved James, The years whisk by, His valiant bravery, Now rested in a grave, 'Til sleep, he loved.

Lyrical James: Part Two (The END)
56 If I should cease to bring a Rose Upon a festal day, ’Twill be because beyond the Rose I have been called away— If I should cease to take the names My buds commemorate— ’Twill be because Death’s finger Claps my murmuring lip!

If I should cease to bring a Rose
That you who seeks Heaven on Earth Is living in passion and heart's desire Echoes with festal song and mirth Only true bliss and love is worth The escape from hellfire That you who seeks Heaven on Earth Spins the tale of fantasy and so forth Demon blood seems to be somewhat minor Echoes with festal song and mirth Free the denizens of Hell's hearth The wicked shall retire That you who seeks heaven on Earth Will travel to witness the lights of the north With the ones you hold near and dear Echoes with festal song and mirth And cry of a newborn at birth Where there is no place for fear That you who seeks Heaven on Earth Echoes with festal song and mirth

Heaven on Earth
The whole earth resounds      With the exuberant songs of nature’s majestic harmony. And sways to the steady pulse      of all that breathes and roams the land, That inhabits the rushing brooks      Or soars through borderless skies, Of every seedling, flower and chrysalis.      And every newborn calf and golden field. All that rise to greet the sun      Intone their festal hymns To nature’s exultant harmony. The boundless wonders of nature’s realm      Sustain our spirits and illumine our paths With wisdom taught by the lakes and mountains      And solace sung by the forests and plains. So with steady and transfigured hearts,      we forge our trails through hallowed land. When the sun has run its daily course      and twilight claims the fading light, we offer thanks for the nascent moon      and the radiant star-jeweled night - tuning our faith and aspirations      to the music of the spheres. The whole earth resounds      with the exuberant songs of nature’s majestic harmony

A Canticle of Hope (repost)
Everything's gonna be alright, Everything's gonna be okay, that's what my shadowy demon says, you'll live to see another festal day. Let's be an inseparable friend and play, I'll take your dusty sanity with me, you catch while I fly away. Your pure fear is my colorful wings, for you are my favorite prey, I'll never leave you alone, so you better obey. Please love, you don't realize, you want me to stay, if not me as your loyal friend you'd be long dead, decay. So invites me with naked arms, my beloved do not delay. I am with you right from start, right from the deranged dark. Those saying I am evil are the one who is going to betray, they all will leave, don't listen to them, don't get swayed now with red heart, you must repay. Hold my hands and listen to what I say, I will be with you through your ragged lifetime I will accompany you to your pray.

The burning ardent of my shadowy demon
A toast to vicissitudes That turn the tides of ones will to live Let us revel in debauchery And all that is self-deprecating Prompting grandiosity and delusional accusations From all that are looking in from the outside For there are blank faces in public spaces who can never simply feel content to just be Fathomless fates from the freezer Awaits all those who stray from Frey A festal procession leads the congregation to Perdition and soon complacency will follow too. Predisposed to a predilection for the neglect to has come before. Effectuating apathy with every day that passes Am I forsaken to be eternally ****** to the void?

Eternally Numb
. As silence calmed and evening reigned she ceased to note the hour of day. She fell as guest to natures arms with crowns of apprehension flown she entered her Elysium. In sleep her garlands of reserve with transient petulance forgone. In innocence of pride and wealth and faculty of thought regained she woke in festal light.
