Your eyes
Are my
Ecstasy.
Pritika Sep 2015
1) I learnt that if life gives you lemons, then it is probably because it doesn’t want your life to be too diabetic. Thanks Lyf, Much Love.
2) It is good to be curious. Actually being curious is all you need to gain knowledge of any kind (quite literally, hah)
3) Thai food will never be good. Ever.
4) Ghaziabad is in Uttar Pradesh, who knew.
5) Alternative music is the one for me.
6) Benedict Cumberbatch will never be mine. I will have to die alone.
7) Fireflies can also be called ‘insects with a glowing tutu’ in Pritika World.
8) American Pie is actually not a movie on pies (yes, I am innocent child still)
9) Never settle for samosa, if you have pizza or sandwich.
10) Hippies are friendly people.
11) It is okay to love yourself before anyone else.
12) The dream for a world tour is 90% unrealistic unless you are offspring of Gates, Tata or billionaire daddies.
13) Google has 3 birthdays.
14) Wearing rings is the shizz and after some time, you’ll feel naked without them.
15) Making 11:11 wish works 46% of the times (yea, I calculated)
16) You feel alone even at a time when you’re messaging 10 people together. That is how social life is.
17) 18 is gonna come soon and the thought of being ‘legal’ makes you crazily excited as ****.

An early morning rise, mainly clear blue skies with the odd patches of white here and there, nice sunshine and a morning dose of Benedict Cumberbatch as 'Doctor Strange' ...I must say it was a pretty good start to the day...I also must admit i'm not usually a morning person but there are certain joys attached to waking up early...the best one being just taking in all the peace and calm around you and channelizing all that positive energy into the very depths of your soul...highly rejuvenating stuff. The beauty of Nature in the wee hours of the morning is simply magical...the freshness of the air, the song sung by the birds and the sound of dewdrops falling from the leaves....it just seduces every bit of you...and to top it all off Benedict Cumberbatch arousing all of my senses!!!

Aside from New Year’s Eve specials, it’s a lean week for original programming. Still, there are a few stand-out offerings. Here’s what caught my eye on television this week:

Sunday: “Undercover Boss” 7 p.m., CBS: Yeah, it’s just a reality program, but it’s one of the only new network offerings tonight, so we’ll take it.

Monday: “Happy New Year, Charlie Brown” 7 p.m., ABC: The ol’ blockhead hunkers down with some choice Tolstoy during these Peanuts’ festivities.

“******: Cape Cod, USA” 8 p.m., HBO: This documentary explores the grip of addiction through the stories of eight twenty-somethings.

Tuesday: “The 38th Annual Kennedy Center Honors” 8 p.m., CBS: Host Stephen Colbert pays tribute to Carole King, George Lucas, Rita Moreno, Cicely Tyson and Seiji Ozawa; James Taylor, Janelle Monáe, Yo-Yo Ma and others perform.

“Almost Genius” 9 p.m., truTV: This new reality comedy series looks at folks who fall just short of their goals. They should be knocking on my door any day now.

Wednesday: “The Twilight Zone” 6 p.m., Syfy: The annual marathon features 156 episodes of the acclaimed anthology series and ends on Jan. 3.

“In Defense of Food” 8 p.m., PBS: Michael Pollan trots the globe in search of people who eat for health.

Thursday: “The Simpsons Movie” and New Year’s marathon, 5 p.m., FXX: The animated motion picture kicks off a back-to-back showing of 56 episodes.7 p.m.

“**** Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2016” 7 p.m., ABC: Whew! That title was so long that it’s almost 2017. The special breaks for local news and resumes at 10:30 p.m.

“Pitbull’s New Year’s Revolution, Part 1” 7 p.m., Fox: Jussie Smollett, Shawn Mendes and others help the performer ring in 2016 from Miami.

“Live from Lincoln Center” 7 p.m., PBS: Alan Gilbert leads the New York Philharmonic in a Parisian-themed New Year’s Eve special.

“NBC’s New Year’s Eve Game Night With Andy Cohen” 9 p.m., NBC: The Bravo star hijacks the prime time portion of Carson Daly’s annual holiday event.

“NBC’s New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly” 10:30 p.m., NBC: And again, Daly is relegated to late night.

Friday: “Sherlock on Masterpiece” 8 p.m., PBS: It’s practically the only non-rerun programming on tonight, but it’s really the only programming you need. The special finds Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman’s Holmes and Watson solving a case in 1895 London.

Saturday: “Galavant” 7 p.m., ABC: Four episodes of last season’s surprise hit musical comedy air back-to-back-to-back-to-back.

“Austin City Limits” 7 p.m., PBS: Alabama Shakes and Vintage Trouble perform.

Micheal Wolf Jan 2017
Morning came, Monday again but not as cold as yesterday
She shuffled like a caterpillar emerging for the spring
Tucked up in her onsie, a safe place to hide, all toasty warm inside

She spent half the night stary eyed, gazing into the sky
The first cup of coffee like a jump start to the soul as she silently screamed "AHA"
The game was afoot!

A poem to read from her friend and co conspiritor, but just hold on a mo, "Oooh Ladyboys" it isn't what she thought!

So Sherlock Shaw was on the case to try and find the truth, not like the BBC and Cumberbatch their "Bitter *******" sleuth

She smelt a rat or was mistaken was it someone else?
Too early in the investigation to shout " let battle commence" it was more like "Deputy Dawg" in Sherlock Shaws defence

So Google this and Google that in a bid to find the truth.
Skip past Sonia and Fernando and Lyn if you must, focus on the detail.
Who is Micheal Wolf?

A name is but a name like
"Bang I'm James Bond"
The devil is in the detail
Like many other things!

So this time lets have laughter as you read, as tears were my last wish
As Alan Partridge said:-
"Smell my cheese you mother"
I'm exactly who I said
Not Spartacus or Michael Wolfe
Just a bloke on the tinterweb
Watching the rings of Saturn Drinking a pint and a bailys Irish cream with Gin and Tonic as a chaser!
For any one who cares

Your lover is useful
He is the chef only free for you
He is the plumber wouldn't charge you anything
He is the handy IT guy whenever you have problems with computers

Your lover is thoughtful
He would pick you up when you
have to work late, and even
put a mug of warm milk at your bed side
He would prepare everything you need when you're on period, even be your punchbag
He would not judge you when you've done something so wrong that you even regret it
He would even praise you for being regretful

Your lover is beautiful
He has the body that could rival David
He has the face that puts Adonis to shame
He has the disposition so graceful that Cumberbatch be disgraced

Your lover is so good
that you cross the sea to be with him

Your lover is impeccable
(Yet) Your lover does not speak your language
"Hamlet with Benedict Cumberbatch. Very good. Thank you Marshall."

My heart pounds.
I repeat these lines
I smile
I hear her voice.

I hear her voice.
A Dec 2018
I’ve come to learn that I cannot pray
With a full heart that’s devoted, unsuspecting of faith.
And I’ve learned to accept that god might have mercy
But he also has wrath
And that’s what I see mostly.

Wars and death surround us so profoundly and yet we just pray harder
so we can sleep soundly

Uncertainty is deadly
I’m sadly inclined to believe so
At least in this place
Where it’s wrong to show ankle& toe.
Or have weak faith be the reason or your woes
Maybe God’s anger is why you’re not good at this and that
It’s also why you can’t find your ‘perfect’ match
Because your heart is tainted, and your mind too aware so they never fancy you as a ‘catch’
You’re not porcelain doll either, you’re full of scar and scratch
so start praying harder dear (there’s no future with Gyllenhaal or Cumberbatch)
and so you’re expected to bloom before you even hatch
because nothing matters more than finding a match
Or else you’d grow old and be trapped
with lonesome that kills and a reality that slaps.
“that’s what God intended”
Is what I’m forced to believe
so I can pray harder
and never have time to grieve

why would god mind if I *******
Or participate in a heated debate
About his existence (whether it’s real or fake)
And why he causes all this heartache
Because yet again
All I see is death and wrath
and sometimes I drown myself in a bath
To escape all I’ve come to hate
About this place and how people tell me my fate
Because anything different would make the Lord angry
Like raising your voice
Or acting ‘manly’

So When will he shed light
And make a child of war’s smile somewhat bright
Because he abandoned them
Or so it seems
I guess he’s too caught up with my wildest dreams
& the length of my jeans.
Sad Case Jun 2018
There's this kid
Who doesn't know what to do
Their life consist of drugs and *****
Before you judge them
Listen to this
This kid I know
Has been hit, kicked, and beaten
They once had friends
They still do
Yet they're not the friend
Their friends once knew
They hang out with addicts
And drink a sip passed their cup
They sell their treasure
For dope or for cash
This kid doesn't know
How long they will last
They feel they have nobody
But know that's untrue
They hook up with strangers
Older than them too
This kid is not legal
To drink or have ***
But that's no problem
Because a fake I.D. fixes that
The person they love
Doesn't even love them back
This kid believes they're worthless
That they deserve death
Honestly, that doesn't sound too bad
They find comfort in their scars
Now isn't that pathetic
Finding beauty in something
That does more hurt than help them
It's nonsense
Speaking of beauty
What the **** is that
When someone calls this kid pretty
All they get is sad
It makes this kid feel bad
Like they aren't who they want to be
Don't people understand
This kid is not only being bullied by others
But by themself, their parents, even me
This kid has nothing
But their thoughts in their brain
They're afraid of theirself
And they are to blame
They want to die
Oh, how many times they've tried
All this kid seems to think about
Is how to end their life
Or what drug will hurt them the most
Now, isn’t that sad
This kid is so young
Yet their life is already considered trash
Abused mentally, physically, and emotionally
They’ve no clue what to do
So they down another bottle
Maybe take a pill or two
They snort some substance
Smoke something too
Shoving the needle into a vein
Only to see red and blue
A little to late
As they kicked down the door
The cops stopped
Their family fell to the floor
All staring in sadness
The kid had grown up
But only to the point
Where they had enough
This kid was so fragile
Yet so strong
But afraid
This kid who was so young
But had the mind of the wiser of age
They made stupid choices
But now everyone else pays
This kid in front of their pupils
Was holding no note
As they pull the trigger
In front of them all
The bullet enters their brain
And exits to the wall
Now look what you’ve done
Young child, you’ve scarred them for life
Ending your pain
Nope, you just gave it to many other lives
These people cared about you
But too blind to see
You had and still have
People who love you
Including me
Your story lives on
Yet, sadly not your life
I wanted to see you grow
But all I see is the roses
Planted next to your gravestone
Which states,
“Your life is not your own.”
