"bilva" poems
He
For whom
All objects in this universe
Are merely a projection
Of pure consciousness,
Who willingly consumes
The poison of human desires,
And grants each true seeker
The elixir of immortality,
I offer one bilva leaf
With all my love....

tis the golden hour
atop this apsidal hall of sentience
seventy-two thousand bilva leaves
shimmer...
as four cosmic forces
simper
in mute surrender
to an eye-popping waltz
choreographed by
the crescent bearing jewel
who’s white as jasmine

I plucked Bilva leaves
amidst silver showers
rippling gems fell
from the firmament
a curtain of crystal
Like a rain angel with
translucent wings
the color of dew
and rainbows
I chanted
Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya
Om Namah Shivaya

I gathered bilva leaves
in the moonlight
Your crescent moon
illumines the dark mist
and fog
crowning my head with
an otherworldly glow
With every breath I chant
Your eternal name
Holy leaves cascade
over the Shiva lingam
Like incandescent prayers
kneeling at Your feet
O Bholenath!
Golden wedding bells
are ringing in the far heavens
O Divine Lord when will
Kailasa embrace the
pining Earth?

to the cosmic nomad
wandering
from one end of the universe
to the other
riding his faithful bull
with no place to call home
except
the heart of the pure devotee,
i offer
one bilva leaf
with
all my love...

to
the enlightened master
who teaches his disciples
the very essence
of true knowledge
through pure silence....
i offer
one bilva leaf
with
all my love
