these old
shoes leave
footprints
everywhere i go
new places or old
small details
-  soft imprints
of my being
are revealed
by the intimacy
of time and memories
of travels
far and wide
markers of a lifelong
journey of which
the destination
remains unknown
between
the pages
of books
you reveal
yourself
in the
soft dusty
pigment
of a
butterfly
wing
- azure blue
like the
summer days
we spent
together
chasing our
laughter
into oblivion
i recline
songlines
tracing
the dark
spaces
between
stars
- you
my only
witness
as i fall
beneath
the shadow
of reality
into the
dream
beyond
hold me
there and
i will be
everlasting
dear heart of
many faces
you remind me
to breathe
the small things
and so
i do
through you i
dream of worlds
sublime
new and old
combined
flying high or
passing low
a life is lived
in your eyes
- amber
like the forest
in shade
where gold
flecks with green
and the curve
of your ready smile
melts my bones
we chased the sun
with a suitcase
full of nothing
until the sky grew big
and we became heavy
in our lust for life
the threads of our pockets
we traded for time
and scattered them
amongst the stars
until, gilded by gold
they fell down around us
like a precious rain
our minds were shattered then
into a billion pieces
constellations of thoughts
bright against the
dark arc of night
and, like vagabonds
we ran howling as we
coloured the land with
our kaleidoscopic hearts
enraptured by the great
deafening silence
of divinity
