i give her way more love than she wants from me, so, i wonder where she puts all the love garbage
 Jan 2023 HOPE
bekka walker
Today I recoil from the world,
loud, chaotic, self-serving.
I draw close to my mysterious self,
one that feels unknown even to me.
I kiss my heart with tender lips and tell her-
You don't have to be so angry with the world,
but it is ok to step away.
This has been sitting in my drafts for a while. Might as well put this mood piece out there, so you too can remember it's ok to step away.

Plip, plip, plop,
Drip, drip, drop
over and over
it never did stop
From the top of the tap
To the top of the bath
It tippled and drippled
And every drop dripped
It landed in ripples
Rising up to the top
Reaching the lip
The over it lopped
A Cascading flood
From a little drip drop

UnMasked

You show everyone your mask

            You convinced us your happy

Playfully picking

                        laughing

                                   smiling

                                                loving

Anger falls into play

                                    You're gone

I never felt so hurt in my life

                                                You lied

Betrayal has come

               You have been unmasked

In dreams I see your face again
Always makes me smile
Wish I didn't have to wake up
When asleep I'm happy for awhile
Every dream eventually fades

It’s been a while
since we’ve seen
her smile

In the skin
she is wrapped in
her happiness
lays thin

with a man
or on her own
she stands there
all alone

it’s official—
i hate being alone.
this isn’t a poem
but
it’s words
i needed to say
my negative thoughts aren’t the best of company

I’m publishing my poetry telepathically today.
So, if you think of a particularly clever rhyme - it was me.
